General Nintendo

IGN editor Lucas Thomas appears to be aware of something Nintendo-related. And that something is a secret. Thomas recently teased Nintendo fans with the following blurb:

“Hey hey IGN boardies, Lucas here checking in from the IGN War Room at E3. It’s time to get hyped, Nintendo fans. I think you’re going to be very pleased with what you’re going to see very soon! I could give you guys a clue, but you’d have to chase me down. You guys have some great guesses. I think that clue is all I can offer right now, but I’ll be back with another nugget sometime before the Nintendo’s briefing kicks off tomorrow morning.”

Is it a first-party game? Third-party title? Project Cafe related? I have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out!

“I’m here now at the Nokia Theatre preparing for our #NintE3ndo presentation tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the show. I arrived here at #E3 on Saturday from Japan, so I’m still experiencing jet lag. I’ve been making my #NintE3ndo speech in English since 2001, but I find it’s still tough to deliver my speech not in Japanese. It’s not easy to prepare a smooth #NintE3ndo presentation, but we enjoy it. Now Mr. Miyamoto is changing his script again!”

Come on, Iwata! Throw us a bone. A sneak peak would be nice! Or a photo of Reggie holding a sign so that it can be photoshopped in various ways just like last year!

“#NintE3ndo President Satoru Iwata sending you greetings from #E3. I’ll be here guest tweeting this week only. #IwataSays”

Too bad it’s only a week! It’s going to be really amusing to see what Iwata has to say. Maybe we’ll get another photo of Reggie or Iwata from E3 rehearsals today…

Can you tell that I’d like for it to be 12:00 PM EDT on Tuesday right now?

Nintendo of Japan has now joined North America by opening an E3 site of their own. Fans can expect a live stream of the company’s media briefing on Tuesday and it will be available for viewing later. The site will most likely see a full reveal once the conference has ended.

Can’t see much just yet, but we’ll definitely be getting a better look on Tuesday/Wednesday. Maybe Austin can take a few photos for the site while he’s walking through the convention halls!

Update: Added a couple of photos.

You know we’re desperate for Nintendo’s E3 2011 briefing to begin when we start posting boxes. But yes, someone has come across cases and boxes for Nintendo, which I assume houses all sorts of goodies. Might Project Cafe consoles be inside one of those boxes?

GameTrailers’ Skyward Sword demo won’t be the only Nintendo-related item they’ll be featuring on Tuesday. Following the Big N’s conference, they’ll also have an interview with Nintendo of America’s head honcho, Reggie Fils-Aime.

Hopefully Geoff Keighley won’t have to ask Reggie why Animal Crossing was the only “hardcore” game announced for Project Cafe. I kid, but I’m sure you all remember when Reggie hyped up a big, hardcore title for E3 2008, but that project turned out to be Animal Crossing: City Folk. Yeah, that E3 was kind of a disaster.

Anyway, before I digress too much, here’s the official description of GameTrailers’ Nintendo coverage on Tuesday:

“11:00AM PDT
Reggie, Zelda, NGP and More
Streaming Live on GameTrailers.com

The big man Reggie Fils-Aime meets up with Geoff – and this time it’s live! You don’t want to miss this interview. Plus, the first ever demo of THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: SKYWARD SWORD

This show wasn’t what I was expecting. It wasn’t live, and there was no Tak Fujii appearance! On the bright side, we did receive a new Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D trailer.
