Jaleco could be no more. Kotaku attempted to contact the company’s Tokyo office today, but there was no answer. A recording noted that the service was “no longer in service.” The blog of Jaleco president Takayasu Katou is also nowhere to be found online.

Game Yarou acquired Jaleco in 2009, though it continued to work on games. No website updates have been posted since 2011.

Jaleco delivered the promising but ultra-disappointing Kizuna for Wii. The company has been around since the early days of gaming with titles such as Bases Loaded for the NES.

Update 2: Pokemon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara and Game Freak director Junichi Masuda are attending.

Update: Kotaku editor Jason Schreier has a few more details. It’s a Pokemon X/Y presentation/Q&A. Time is set for 6 PM PT. Schreier also says that “Nintendo is doing a lot of different E3 events.”

Nintendo won’t be holding a typical press conference at this year’s E3, but the company has scheduled a number of different events for the show.

One happening appears to be a special Pokemon presentation. This will take place during the first night of E3 and will be 1.5 hours long, according to media reports.

Also during E3 are two different hands-on events: one for the media and one for analysts/other business folks. A Nintendo Direct broadcast will be live-streamed on June 11 as well.

Mike Fischer became Square Enix of America’s president and CEO in July 2010. He is now gone from the company.

Fischer told the site that he left on good terms, but did not provide further information. Square Enix has not commented on the situation at this time.

A couple of weeks ago, Capcom announced plans to host a “blood swimming pool” event in London. The company hoped to promote the new release of Resident Evil: Revelations while hosting an enjoyable happening for fans.

This was set to take place over the weekend, but has since been cancelled due to the tragic events that took place in the UK yesterday.

Capcom said in a statement:

“In light of yesterday’s sad events we’re cancelling our Revelations pool event. Thank you for your understanding.”

This is probably for the best. It just wouldn’t have made sense to host this given what happened.

Aksys Games has announced its E3 2013 lineup, which includes two unannounced titles. Trailers for both games will be shown during the event and they’ll be playable as well. Aksys says that it will be bringing the games “to these here shores”, so it sounds like a couple of localization announcements are planned.

Aksys’ E3 lineup includes Muramasa Rebirth, A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda EX, and the company’s first mobile titles. Strangely, there’s no news on Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi, which was confirmed for North America last month.

Square Enix opened a 10th anniversary teaser site a couple of months ago, but it was taken down soon after.

Now it’s back. And a countdown is now included – seemingly, anyway. The “timer” stays consistent at 00:46:49.

The text has also changed a bit. It now reads:

As of April 1, 2013 we’ve reached our 10th anniversary!
We hope you’ll continue supporting us going forward as well!
Now then, we said we were “thinking about various things” on the site not long ago, so we’ve prepared this little heartwarming site…
as soon as it’s ready, the counter will begin to move. Please wait for a little while. ROCK ‘N ROLL.

You can get a look at the teaser page here.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire looks to be primed for a re-release on the Virtual Console. The OFLC rated the SNES title today, which means that it will likely be hitting the Wii U eShop at some point in the future.

Other recent ratings from the OFLC include DuckTales Remastered, Rayman Legends, and Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Story.
