Shin Megami Tensei IV will cost $50
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
If you want to play Shin Megami Tensei IV, you’ll need to fork over a bit of extra cash. The game will cost a bit more than the average 3DS title.
In its localization announcement earlier today, Atlus confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei IV will be a $49.99 game. It’s not often that we see 3DS titles priced that high, and it’s a fairly niche game, so it’ll be interesting to see how well it performs on the market.

Capcom announces new IP Gaist Crusher for 3DS, includes manga, anime, and more
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Capcom has announced a new children-centric IP – specifically targeting “elementary school age boys” – known as Gaist Crusher. The game component of the franchise will be made for the 3DS and will be released in Japan this winter.
Gaist Crushers is described as an action game – you can see how it plays out in the trailer above. Capcom plans to take advantage of its “expertise in producing content for children” and “high-grade multiplayer capability” in creating the project.
Beyond games, Capcom has plans to expand Gaist Crushers through manga, anime, music and toys. Saikyo Jump and V Jump will handle the manga, Pierrot Co., Ltd. will produce the anime, Pierrot Co., Ltd. will be in charge of music, and Bandai Co., Ltd. will be responsible for toys. The company calls this “an expansive cross-media project.”
Shin Megami Tensei IV releasing in North America this Summer
Posted on 11 years ago by Patrick(@Patricklous) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
In a Megaten megaton announcement (well really it was just a press release and a webpage) Atlus have announced that the latest installment in the long-running Shin Megami Tensei series will be playable on North American 3DS consoles in just a few months. The news isn’t too unexpected considering that Atlus are also releasing the far more niche Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, but it’s nice to see that they’re announcing the localisation before the game is even out in Japan. We don’t know too much about Shin Megami Tensei IV yet, but the game looks to feature plenty of demons to recruit and fuse, moral choices to make, and weaknesses to exploit in a revised version of the series’ “Press Turn” battle system. No word on whether the ridiculously cool Shin Megami Tensei 3DS XL will also make it stateside.

Capcom on DuckTales Remastered’s story additions and changes
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
There are a lot of new and modified elements in DuckTales Remastered. One of the biggest features changed this time around is the game’s story. For instance, players will encounter a brand new tutorial level that will introduce the characters and story, and there’s a full-blown scene explaining why Uncle Scrooge needs to rescue Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
After telling Webby to wait behind, the trio run off and land in a trap soon after. Uncle Scrooge is, thankfully, more than willing to rescue the bunch.
Capcom producer Rey Jimenez discussed DuckTales Remastered’s story changes with Siliconera:
[WayForward] really wanted it to feel like you’re playing the show. In the original NES version, you go in the UFO to find the remote control to open the area to get to the boss. You don’t really know why. The game doesn’t explain it well. In our version, before you even get to the UFO you see Fenton who is Gizmoduck and he gets kidnapped by the UFO. You’re going into the UFO to save him and find all of the parts in Gizmoduck’s suit. Once you get that all together and Fenton turns into Gizmoduck he’s going to escort you back to the area where the door was and he will blast everything out of your way and then blast the door out.
In the NES version, you fight a big rat and it didn’t explain why you’re fighting a rat on the moon. That’s explained in here because there are rats they’re experimenting on and you let them loose and that becomes the rat down there. Also, how does Scrooge McDuck breathes on the moon? We explain that as well.
GDC 2013 the biggest in event’s history, GDC 2014 dated
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
23,000 people flocked to the Moscone Center in San Francisco for the 2013 Game Developers Conference, making this year the most-successful and highest-attended show in the event’s history.
GDC 2014’s date has already been set. Once again, it’ll take place at the Moscone Center between March 17 and March 21.
Game Developers Conference general manager Meggan Scavio said:
“With the game development industry evolving at a faster clip than ever before, we find both the profile of the developer and the types of games represented at GDC also growing to include new and different people and interests. The response we’ve gotten to this year’s event makes us feel confident that the changes we’ve made, such as the introduction of the Advocacy Track and the Free to Play Game Design and Business Summit, have helped evolved the conference to be even more inclusive.”
