Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Announces Spy Hunter for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS

The Original Combat Driving Series is More Thrilling and Dangerous than Ever!

BURBANK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces Spy Hunter, a reboot of the legendary combat driving series, specially developed for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS by TT Fusion. The game will be available this fall.

On the eve of the franchise’s 30th anniversary since the original Spy Hunter was released to arcades in 1983, the new Spy Hunter races forward on its most thrilling and dangerous ride yet. The player once again takes on the role of the “Agent,” the driver of the high-tech G-6155 Interceptor supercar, armed extensively with advanced weaponry, and ready to take on a global terrorist organization set on world domination.

Nintendo getting in on the teases? Yep, it’s true. Nintendo doesn’t usually tease its fans about upcoming announcements or reveals, but maybe they’re having a change in attitude with the upcoming arrival of Wii U.

Speaking of that new console, Nintendo is teasing the console’s initial releases on Facebook. Heck, it could be one of the worst teases ever.

This is what was said on the Wii U Facebook page:

“Guess what the initial game releases will be for Nintendo’s new home console, Wii U? Soon we’ll scratch off to reveal the names! ????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????? ???????????????????.”

… Yeah.

I wonder what’s meant here by “soon”. They’re probably just gearing fans up for E3, but maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll hear something before then.

Square Enix opened its 25th anniversary site for Final Fantasy a couple of months ago, but there wasn’t much to look at. The company gave it a major update today, bringing along a discography of each Final Fantasy release as well as a listing of Final Fantasy-related items.

There’s also a “Creator’s Voice” area featuring commentary from some of the staff who have been involved with the franchise.

One comment from Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada had this to say in particular:

“We’ll take the 25th anniversary as an opportunity to begin our walk towards the next 25 years. In order to make the fans happy, we the developer have just one promise we can make. Outside of talent and ability, we will also make sure development is handled exclusively by creators who feel love of the FF series stronger than anyone else.”
