Analyst April 2012 NPD prediction: Xenoblade the third best-selling game
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Next week’s NPD report could bring along encouraging first month results for Xenoblade Chronicles. Analyst firm PiperJaffray has made some forecasts about the upcoming data, including a prediction that the epic RPG was the third best-selling game in the U.S. last month. If this turns out to be true, I’m sure Nintendo would be more than happy with Xenoblade’s performance in North America thus far.
THQ won’t have a booth at E3 2012

THQ has confirmed that they won’t have a booth at this year’s E3.
However, the company will initiate a number of E3-related activities. THQ will show a variety of titles to the E3 judges, will have a press/business center at the expo for meetings, and will be involved with first-party activities.
THQ’s decision to not pursue a booth can be attributed to its poor financial state.
“We’re not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we’ll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities).”
“When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself.”

Super Hang-On was just a taste of the Virtual Console Arcade goodness coming our way.
Next week, SEGA’s Wonder Boy in Monster Land and Monster World IV will be hitting the Wii Shop Channel. Each title will be available for 900 points.
This is the first time Monster World IV will be released outside of Japan.
So yes, two Virtual Console Wii games in the same week. When was the last time that happened?!

Kirby’s Pinball Land has been rated by the OFLC. The new listing is a sign that we’ll be seeing the classic Game Boy title on the 3DS Virtual Console sometime in the future. When, specifically? That’s anybody’s guess!

SEGA working on unannounced title for Wii U, probably downloadable
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
SEGA has an unannounced project in the works for Wii U. Based on a LinkedIn entry, it looks like the game will be a downloadable release.
SEGA of America associate producer Matthew Hickman included a listing for an “unannounced title” in his online profile. In addition to Wii U, it’s in development for the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC. As many of you know, PSN/XBLA are virtual platforms, so this new project will probably appear on the Wii U’s digital store.
Official Black Ops II Wii board was a mistake

Call of Duty: Black Ops II has taken a step back in being confirmed for Wii. A Wii version seemed like a strong possibility after it was discovered that Activision has added in an official sub-board on the game’s official forums. This was a just a mistake, however.
An official notice on the Black Ops II forums reads:
Members of the Wii Community — When migrating our forums from Call of Duty: Black Ops to the new site, the “Wii” section migrated with it, which should not have been the case.
To date, we have only confirmed development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. Please stay tuned here for any updates.
A Wii edition may be out of the question – for now, anyway – but Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia did tease a version for the console’s successor.
