Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

– All characters from Resident Evil 4 and 5 Mercenaries modes are playable
– This includes Leon, Ada, Krauser, HUNK, Wesker, Chris, Jill, Sheva
– Eight Mercenaries stages from Resident Evil 5 and the four Mercenaries stages from Resident Evil 4
– There will be hidden characters who have not previously been in Mercenaries
– New game modes
– Alternate costumes for characters
– Resident Evil 4 stages may have been made more like the Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries stages (different time crystals, more enemies, graphical face-lifts)

Resident Evil: Revelations

– Resident Evil 4/5 camera style while navigating through cramped spaces
– Dark haunted house-like cruise ship
– Camera style changes to first-person when aiming
– Move and shoot while aiming as well
– Story a very significant part of the game
– Features the friendship between Chris and Jill turning sour
– Initial disagreements between the two turn into distrust and eventually suspicion and madness
– Game uses weather to its efficiency
– Cruise ship is doomed
– Parts of the ship are getting flooded/torn as you progress
– Monsters break free and multiply
– The two points above may happen in real-time, not scripted
– May have an element like The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask in which you need to get out of the ship before time runs out with specific events linked to certain times on the ship

29th October 2010 – Nintendo, a worldwide pioneer in the creation of interactive entertainment and Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that they have entered into a distribution agreement for the forthcoming game Ghost Trick Phantom Detective to be made available on the Nintendo DS family of handheld consoles.

Under the terms of the agreement Nintendo will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the game throughout European territories, with Capcom remaining as publisher. Capcom will remain as the distributor in Australia and the Middle East. Ghost Trick Phantom Detective is scheduled for release across Europe on the 14th of January 2011.

In fact I’ve got lots of iPhone games and I’m quite happy. But the next range of consoles that will be out in the next five years, why would any of those need physical media? Why would they want physical media? If you’ve got it physically and you trade it, the hardware manufacturer just lost out, big time. When they produce their next console – let’s call it Sony Next, it could be any platform holder Next – if they make it only a digital store, they absolutely control everything. Pricing, their margins, you can’t trade it second hand. Their logistics and overheads come down considerably. The cost of manufacture of the original console comes down considerably. I’m going to be very, very upset if we lose physical media altogether, and the sad part is that I can definitely see it happening. Sony already went that direction with the PSPGo, Microsoft has expressed interest in doing the same, and Apple is already 100% digital. I will say, however, that Nintendo has said that they like to keep physical media as opposed to downloadable content, which is good. We’ll see…
