This comes from the same German Miyamoto interview from our last post. Again, this is somewhat of a rough translation…

Miyamoto on how many ideas not realized in Galaxy 1 were realized in Galaxy 2…

“We have developed two Super Mario Galaxy games for Wii, though we rarely produce two episodes of a series for the same console. Nevertheless, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was developed for Wii. The Galaxy series works with 3D animation, which offers many new game options and makes the game more user friendly. Since not all ideas could be realized after Super Mario Galaxy 1, version 1.5 was produced. But we added so many ideas that it was better to have a completely new version to develop. The result was Super Mario Galaxy 2.”

Miyamoto on whether the awards he has received puts pressure on him…

“The many awards given to me give me the feeling that I am older. Of course, an award comes with some pressure connected to be allowed to make mistakes, because I want to be a role model be for the next generation.”

The following comes from a German video interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. We’ve posted a rough translation of what was discussed below.

Miyamoto on the art shown at last year’s E3…

“This image plays an important role in the plot. At E3 you will see what I mean. But honestly said you will only remember the games, such as makes the joke much. So you wait until you play it yourself.”

Miyamoto on how many changes there will be in the game…

“For us, two things are important: to meet expectations and to surprise people. How we do it this time, I will not reveal. Normally, we create the video sequences, and these sequences are expanded. But this time we started with the game structure. And then with the video sequences. So this time it was reversed. Therefore, we have had little so far from the game to show. But will publish a lot close to the game’s completion. For us, it is important to the to optimize gameplay and make the controls easier. We do our best to make the controls player friendly, since ‘Zelda’ has become complicated.”

TNA’s Legendary Wrestler Hits the Ring in the New Handheld Game

MIDLOTHIAN, VA – May 14, 2010 – SouthPeak Games today proudly announced that the Nintendo DSTM version of TNA iMPACT! Cross the Line will see the return to video games of the biggest name in professional wrestling, Hulk Hogan. That’s right, brother, Hulkamania is back and exclusively on Nintendo DS!

Hulk Hogan is the most recognized personality in professional wrestling. Along with other titans of the ring including Sting, AJ Styles and Kurt Angle, he is on a mission to redefine wrestling in the ring and on your game system.

“Yes, we knew the controls had issues but frankly, we just ran out of time to fix them. When you’re making a game so unique the focus needs to be on those features and when the time is up you go out with what you have. Getting another year and starting with the core base of the original game will really help us nail down all of the issues that people had.” – Scribblenauts creator Jeremiah Slaczk

My biggest complaint with the first Scribblenauts was the controls. However, the team is clearly looking to iron out any issues with the sequels, and adding d-pad support will provide another option for players. Also, it’s always great to see a developer acknowledge any prominent mistakes in their game!
