GameSpot was able to get a taste of what Fire Emblem Echoes has to offer at PAX East this weekend. In a new article, the site shares additional details and screenshots. Find the new content rounded up below.

– Rather than moving directly from mission to mission, a world map allows you to have some freedom in choosing what you do next
– Once again, dungeons are in the game
– Explore dungeons in 3D with a third-person camera
– Dungeons have destroyable objects and treasure chests with items and money to find
– Encounter enemies in dungeons as well
– Engaging one takes you into a standard Fire Emblem battle
= It’s almost like a mini mission, as you still have access to your squad and face multiple enemies, rather than simply taking part in a one-on-one fight
– Gain an edge by attacking the foe in the dungeon before combat begins, reducing their health to start the battle, – Enemies can do the same to you
– Echoes follows a pair of “dueling” protagonists that you’ll swap between
– Celica and Alm each set out to defend their country, but they take different approaches to doing so
– Swap back and forth between the two routinely
– Can spend longer stretches of time playing as one before jumping into the other’s story
– First Fire Emblem game to feature full voice acting (some very minor characters aside)
– Archers can now counter-attack from a single tile away
– Mages now expend a portion of their health in order to cast spells
– Weapon durability seems to be absent
– No support system during battles
– No traditional weapon triangle
– There are still ways to gain an advantage in battles

A new screenshot from Splatoon 2 hit the series’ Japanese Twitter page today. It provides a new look at the Spawn Point.

While the Spawn Point looks new, it naturally works just like it did in the first game. The Twitter message also points out how it seems as though it was made by a foreign company, and says even the world of Splatoon appears to be seeing globalization.

Square Enix has released some new story details and screenshots for Dragon Quest XI. There’s a bit of an overlap with the details revealed in Jump magazine last week, like the bios for new characters Veronica and Senya, so we will only be covering the new stuff here, in addition to screenshots from the 3DS version. Thanks to Gematsu for the translation.

As the reincarnation of the legendary “Hero,” the protagonist sets off on a journey through a vast world.

The protagonist, who grew up in the calm village of Ishi, turned 16 years old and took part in a coming-of-age ceremony as a village custom. As the reincarnation of the “Hero” that once saved the world, he understands that he is burdened with a great mission. To learn about the Hero and the Hero’s mission, he sets off on a journey from his hometown.

The destination—the continent’s biggest country, “Delcadar.” Specifically, the king.

Based on his mother’s words that all will be revealed should he go to Delcadar, the protagonist in due course heads for the king. The protagonist informs the king of Delcadar that he is the “hero,” and the king began to tell him what the “hero” means—

And then, the Hero is called the child of the devil!

What the king of Delcadar said was unbelievable. He said that the Hero is the child of the devil. In response to the king’s words, the soldiers surround the protagonist with their swords pointed at him. What is the meaning of all of this? The story of the legendary “Hero” starts off with a bang. What is the fate of the protagonist?

The story of a new “Hero” begins now.

With all the new weapons, maps, songs etc being added to Splatoon 2, it’s probably not the biggest surprise that we’ll be getting some new clothing brands as well. The Japanese Splatoon Twitter account has now officially revealed the first one – “Emperi” (or possibly “Empery”). It’s described as a casual, sporty street fashion brand and judging by the screenshot above, it certainly fits that image.
