Joost van Dongen, creator of Proun, is working with Engine Software to bring Proun to the 3DS, iOS, and Android. A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but will be announced “at a later time.”

Proun first came out for PC back in 2011. As far as what the game entails, players race in a world filled with geometric objects and large colored surfaces.

Joel Nyström, CEO and founder of Ludosity divulged a few new details about the Wii U version of Ittle Dew while speaking with Nintendo Life. Here’s the latest:

– Leaderboards for Wii U still being decided on
– GamePad shows the map
– Map is updated in realtime as you progress and uncover more of the world
– Press the minus button on the GamePad to switch the screens
– Doing so will move the action to the GamePad and map to the TV
– Supports Wii U Pro Controller and Classic Pro
– Game isn’t coming to the 3DS
– “We would have to port the entire game over without any middleware, and that takes a lot of time. It’s really too bad that Unity decided to not support the 3DS.”
– “Nintendo are great to work with – really approachable and helpful even to small studios like us. But really, there are only a handful publishers out there that aren’t. Most publishers have a strategy for indie titles these days.”
– Wii U version “ready for submission at a day’s notice.”
– Waiting for Unity to come out of beta
– Game could be out within a month

Eurogamer recently caught up with Phil Gaskell, creative director and co-founder of Ripstone. Gaskell shared some insight into the company’s relationship with Nintendo and noted how the Big N has been “a lot swifter” in changing its technical policies.

Specifically, Ripstone was told very quickly that cross-play is supported – even with non-Nintendo systems. Therefore Wii U and 3DS owners will be able to play Pure Chess with iOS and Android users online. Ripstone is also looking into the possibility of supporting the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita with cross-play.

According to Gaskell:

VD-Dev has shared the first bit of information about its new 3DS eShop game, “IronFall”.

The studio confirmed to us that Iron Fall is a third-person shooter. It’s VD-Dev’s first independent project, and has been in development for two years.

Additionally, VD-Dev tells us that the team is “pushing the 3DS to its limits.”

That’s all for now. New details will be shared in about two weeks.

Working with a publisher isn’t something that Comcept is forced to consider. Thanks to generous donations received on Kickstarter, the game can be released independently.

But let’s talk hypotheticals. Say Capcom were to approach creator Keiji Inafune and the team at Comcept about handling publishing duties. Is this something Inafune would be open to? To put it simply: yes.

Inafune told Game Informer this month:

“I would hear their terms. If they had the best terms, I would go with Capcom. There is no reason not to publish with Capcom, and I certainly don’t feel like there’s a reason that I have to publish with Capcom. Literally, it would be a very cut-and-dried business negotiation. If they had the best terms, the logical businessman in me would say, ‘Yes, let’s go with them.'”

What would make Capcom publishing Mighty No. 9 particularly interesting is how Inafune would be returning to the company he started out with (and eventually left), in a sense. But again, the game could very well end up without a publisher – and no one would really mind that.

Gameware Europe’s Kickstarter for its new James Pond project has ended. The campaign had until October 20 to raise a total of £100,000, but it seemed like funds would fall well short of that goal.

Now the question is, what’s the future of James Pond? Gameware doesn’t seem to be giving up, as the company acknowledged in a new update “that there sure is still a lot of love for this plucky secret agent fish and we believe it’ll only take the right game and the right campaign to make James Pond 4 a reality.”

“But is this the end for Pond? We sure hope not! If there’s one thing we’ve learned from running this campaign it’s that there sure is still a lot of love for this plucky secret agent fish and we believe it’ll only take the right game and the right campaign to make James Pond 4 a reality. So stay tuned and we will be back with more news soon.”
