3DS eShop

Based on a listing on Nintendo’s website, Super Mario Bros. will be released on the North American Wii U eShop next week as a Virtual Console download. Pricing will be set at $4.99.

In other news, Super Mario Bros. 3’s VC release also appears to be on the horizon. Listings for Wii U as well as 3DS have been discovered, but no date is included. I imagine we’ll be seeing the game in the near future.

Cut the Rope will be hitting the North American 3DS eShop next week, according to a listing on Nintendo’s website. It’ll be joined by Rage of the Gladiator – another downloadable title coming out on Thursday.

That’s assuming the listing is correct, of course. Nintendo’s database has occasionally been inaccurate.

Devil Survivor Overclocked is provisionally scheduled to arrive on the European 3DS eShop on October 10, according to publisher Ghostlight. Pricing will be set at £29.99.

Ghostlight has also given an update on Devil Survivor 2’s European release. Here’s the latest:

Moving on to Devil Survivor 2 news now and I’m very pleased to be able to tell you that we have collated and added everyone’s names to the manual and we’ve resubmitted the printed materials to Nintendo for approval. This does mean that it’s now too late to email us asking to get your name changed in the manual. I’ve also been informed that the Devil Survivor 2 cartridges have entered the manufacturing process and we should receive an estimated delivery date shortly. I’m expecting to be able to provide you all with weekly updates on the status of Devil Survivor 2 here on the Ghostlight blog, so please do remember to come back next week when I’ll hopefully have the manufacturer’s estimated delivery date for you all (fingers crossed).

Star Wars Pinball 3DS has been officially announced by Zen Studios today, which is actually just a few days away from releasing. The game will be available on the eShop next Thursday for $6.99 / €6.99.

On 3DS, Star Wars Pinball includes the Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars tables. Players will be able to experience the action in 3D. Zen Studios says it has spent “extra time and effort to make sure each Star Wars pinball table was given the proper treatment to really showcase top tier 3D entertainment.”

Star Wars Pinball’s features include the Balance of the Force community feature, in game challenges and score notifications, an XP progression system allowing players to move up the ranks based on Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance support, Force Score and friends-based Team Score leaderboards.

If you’re interested in playing Shantae: Half-Genie Hero on a handheld, you’ll have to settle for the PlayStation Vita. The 3DS has all been ruled out as a viable platform for the new project.

WayForward’s Matt Bozon, speaking with 4 color rebellion, said that he along with the rest of his team “don’t expect to deliver on 3DS.” Bozon believes that the upcoming 3DS eShop release Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse “is the best possible fit for that system”.

“We have just announced adding Vita, and are approved to develop for Xbox One as well. We’re still looking into Linux & Mac. We don’t expect to deliver on 3DS. We feel that Pirate’s Curse is the best possible fit for that system, which is why it is an exclusive title.”
