The confusion surrounding Shovel Knight on Nintendo platforms has been cleared up. It is in fact coming to both Wii U and 3DS, as was originally thought.

Developer Yacht Club Games shared an early Shovel Knight PAX East banner on its Twitter account, which just so happens to contain logos for both systems.

Details regarding Kickstarter reward tiers for Wii U and 3DS are coming soon.

Fez unlikely for 3DS

Posted on 11 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, 3DS eShop, News | 0 comments

After originally releasing on the Xbox 360 last year, Fez creator Phil Fish is planning a new version for PC and Mac. But what about other platforms? Like the 3DS, maybe?

In the case of Nintendo’s handheld, Fish indicated that we won’t be seeing a new release to take advantage of the hardware. Fish, who conversed with fans during a Reddit AMA, said that Fez on the 3DS “would be kind of pointless.”

“People keep assuming Fez would be a no-brainer on 3DS, but in truth it would be kind of pointless. The game is practically always shown in isometric 3D, there’s never any perspective there. I don’t think it would work.”

Mighty Switch Force 2 is coming. Developer WayForward confirmed the game’s existence late last month.

Just a short while ago, WayFoward sent out a tweet that seems to contain the first screenshot from Switch Force 2:

As it turns out, Yacht Club Games will likely be bringing its first game to Nintendo platforms.

We found out last night that the studio is working on the 8-bit NES-like project called “Shovel Knight”. While Yacht Club initially didn’t seem ready to announce that the game would be coming to a Nintendo system, the company has since confirmed that it is hoping to release the game on both Wii U and 3DS, through the eShop.

Along with the Wii U and 3DS, Yacht Club Games will be bringing Shovel Knight to the PC.

This obviously isn’t a video of Gero Blaster running on the 3DS, but it’s a look at the kind of gameplay you can expect:
