3DS

Nintendo has been working on the next firmware update for the 3DS. According to the generally-reliable Emily Rogers, the download was originally scheduled for October. The update, however, has apparently been pushed back to an unspecified timeframe.

The Wii U is also expected to be receiving a major update – first announced several months ago during a Nintendo Direct. Rogers teased on Twitter that the new firmware will arrive “sooner than you think.”

The tweet in full, which also contains an interesting tidbit regarding Ubisoft, reads:

Asked to elaborate on the Ubisoft note, Rogers tweeted:

SEGA has delayed the Japanese launch of Hero Bank.

Initially, the 3DS title was due out on December 19. However, Hero Bank’s opening movie confirms the delay. It’s now scheduled for release in spring 2014.

Hero Bank will cost 5,500 yen at retail when it’s available. The eShop version will cost 4,900 yen.

Monster Hunter 4 sold 473,739 copies in its second week following an incredibly successful debut. But it’s important to note that retail sales may have been hampered by continued shortages, as noted by Media Create.

The eShop version of Monster Hunter 4 is expected to see persisting demand due to the lack of retail stock. However, because Nintendo typically withholds sales of games on its digital store, we’re unlikely to find out the full extent of Monster Hunter 4’s sales.
