More and more consumers are purchasing digital content – even in Japan. A good chunk of Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s sales came from the eShop, and there are a fair amount of 3DS owners who have opted to purchase the downloadable version of Tomodachi Collection.

He confirmed to attendees that Animal Crossing’s digital sales in Japan stand at 10%, while Tomodachi Collection’s digital sales have come in at 10% thus far.

Inafune says Kaio: King of Pirates is still in development, trilogy still planned, appealing to the west
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Kaio: King of Pirates is an odd case. Despite having announced the game a year and a half ago, relatively little has been shared by developer Comcept and publisher Marvelous AQL.
But don’t work: Kaio is still coming. Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune told Siliconera that development is “going well”, though because a manga and anime are also involved, “we can’t just show the game.”
“Marvelous AQL is the publisher and there are plans to make a manga and anime. At Comcept, we’re producing the game and it’s going well. There is a total effort with all of these collaborators for the Kaio intellectual property, so we can’t just show the game. It’s basically not our choice.”

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D has a huge block size
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, 3DS eShop, News | 0 comments
While we’re on the topic of 3DS block sizes, here’s another one for you: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The game comes in at a whopping 17,693 blocks.
That’s larger than Style Savvy’s 10,500 total and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s 14,275 amount.
Capcom previously said that Ultimate is 1.76GB. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D should, therefore, be somewhere around 2GB.
