When you refresh Nintendo’s E3 site, a new character silhouette appears. It’s not too big of a deal since they’re images we’ve already seen before – Pikmin, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Wind Waker, and Super Mario Galaxy art. Still, some of you may want to have a look.

Spelunker is now set for release on the Wii U eShop on June 6 – next Thursday.

The game was originally expected to arrive yesterday based on a listing on Nintendo’s own website. However, it was nowhere to be found on the eShop, and it wasn’t mentioned in the Nintendo Download announcement.

Nintendo’s listing has since been updated with the June 6 date. You’ll be able to download the title for $4.99.

Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is getting “a very special limited edition”. Aksys announced the product today, which includes an exclusive Japanese folding fan, a Japanese-style towel, and an exclusive art book.

A full rundown of each item can be found below.

  • Japanese Folding Fan – What better way to cool down from the romance in Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi than with your very own Japanese-style fan with artwork from the series!
  • Japanese-style Towel – Need a slight pat down to make sure you look your best for the Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi photo booth? Look no further!
  • Men of Hakuoki Art Book – Just can’t get enough of the men of Hakuoki? We have an art book for that. Featuring artwork from the series!

Nintendo’s E3 2013 website is locked and loaded. Access it here.

Naturally, there isn’t a ton of content on the site at present, but it does confirm that a live-stream will be hosted directly on the page. Additionally, the site promises “game trailers, interviews, and more.” We’ll likely be seeing coverage similar to that of Nintendo All-Access content from previous years.

One other tidbit – Nintendo’s E3 site confirms the number of Wii U titles that will be playable at Best Buy locations. That would be four. Pikmin 3, Mario 3D, Wind Waker HD and Mario Kart Wii U are likely to be on display. Those are just my guesses!

During an AMA (“ask me anything”) on reddit last night, Precursor Games executive Shawn Jackson was asked whether or not we could see Shadow of the Eternals (a spiritual successor to Gamecube hit Eternal Darkness) come out even if the Kickstarter didn’t reach his goal. His response:

“Since we do not have any other source of funding, it is unlikely.”

– Precursor exec Shawn Jackson

As their campaign has only reached $270,000 of their $1.5M goal, things aren’t looking great for the project as it stands right now. Unless something big happens and people get on board, we probably won’t see a spiritual sequel to Eternal Darkness anytime soon, despite how much clamoring we had for one.

Shin Megami Tensei saw an 80.14% sell-through rate during its debut week in Japan. That compares favorably to the previous entry in the series, Nocturne, which sold through 75.7% of its initial shipment.

The actual sales figures are similar as well. Shin Megami Tensei IV moved 188,562 copies in its first week while Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne sold 185,000 copies.
