News leaked out a few days back that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be launching in North America on October 29. Ubisoft officially confirmed the date today, as well as the release timing for Europe. Black Flag will be out in the country just a few days later – November 1.


Capcom is continuing to highlight creatures from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The latest, Jade Barroth, is a Brute Wyvern in the game.

Wii U discounted at ASDA

Walmart subsidiary ASDA is selling the Wii U at a discount. The Basic model is available for £199 while the Deluxe release can be purchased for £249. Both editions have been dropped by £50.

For the time being, ASDA is the only retailer in the UK offering these discounts.

A new Wii U system update is now available for Wii U. Users can upgrade their console to version 2.1.3.

According to a notice posted on Nintendo’s official support site, the download makes “Further improvements to overall system stability.”

The page also confirms that a bigger firmware release – announced a few months back – is due out in April. It “adds new features and further improvements to the user experience”.

“We’re going to be communicating big on multiplayer in the coming weeks,” he said. “However, what I can say is that unfortunately we won’t be doing naval multiplayer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.”

Well, that’s pretty unfortunate! I remember watching the E3 2012 footage of Assassin’s Creed III and thinking that the naval battles were one of the most interest parts from the game, and you would think they would be primed for multiplayer considering the mechanics of the gameplay.

What’s interesting is that Myhill also said they were focusing all of their resources on creating the perfect “open-world pirate experience”, so they don’t have the resources to do multiplayer ship-battling.
