Nintendo Switch 2 statement CES 2025 Genki

January 10: As Switch 2 leaks and rumors reach a fever pitch, Nintendo has put out a statement addressing the situation slightly – and we also have an update from Genki.

A big part of the Switch discussion this week surrounds Genki, an accessories maker. The company went as far as to bring a dummy model to CES 2025 and allowed members of the media to get their hands on it. Genki also told IGN that this “was based on a real Switch 2 system it had seen and used as the basis for its accessories.” But now the company is changing its tune.

Hynpytol

Hynpytol is about to make its way to Nintendo Switch, according to an eShop listing. Those that are interested can pick it up on January 16, 2025.

Hynpytol is a puzzle action adventure game inspired by games of the 90’s. The title revolves around saving a crumbling immune system.

If there’s one thing the Nintendo Switch has, it’s games. Quite possibly too many of them to rank! With the announcement of Nintendo’s new hardware presumably on the horizon, it’s a good time to look at all of the great games that have released on the platform over the past seven years. Whether the Switch is your favorite Nintendo console or just one of your favorites, it absolutely has one of the best libraries any console has had to offer. Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Quick Recast, Hraesvelg, Neil Nail

Nintendo has shared more details on Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition details – specifically Quick Recast, Hraesvelg, and Neil Nail (official English name TBA). These are new elements that were not included in the Wii U original. 

As for Quick Recast, this reduces the cooldown timer for Arts and can be performed with the Y button. If you’ve seen the new trailer and footage from this week, you may have noticed a green gauge used during battle. If you use Quick Recast, you’ll use up some of that gauge. As of now it seems it can be refilled with auto attacks.

Kero Quest 64

Kero Quest 64, which is currently on Kickstarter, has reached its funding goal and is also now confirmed for Nintendo Switch release. A stretch goal was met to bring the title to the console.

Kero Quest 64 is a 3D platformer inspired by games from the 90s. In the game, you’ll play as a blue frog looking to stop a prince from abusing his newly gained powers. GalaxyTrail of Freedom Planet fame will be involved with publishing.

Freedom Wars Remastered trailer

Bandai Namco went live with a launch trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered, which just made it to Nintendo Switch. This marks the return of the cult classic originally made for PS Vita.

Star Wars Episode I Jedi Power Battles Jar Jar Binks

Jar Jar Binks is joining Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles as a new playable character, Aspyr just revealed.

The game is more than just a simple remaster of the classic game. Aside from updates like a modern control scheme, new characters will be added – and yes, Jar Jar Binks will be among them. There’ll also be a Tusken Raider, a Rodian, and more.
