If you plan on downloading Wii Party U, you’ll need to reserve roughly 5.414GB (5514MB) of space. That’s how big the European version is, and the North American release should be very similar in size. Wii Party U will also be offered at retail.

Here’s the ad in full:

VD-Dev is authorized to make Wii U games, but doesn’t have plans for the console

You may have noticed how VD-Dev’s website contains a Wii U logo. Does that mean the IronFall team has plans to develop for Nintendo’s home console in addition to the 3DS? Unfortunately, that would be a no.
We did receive confirmation from VD-Dev that the studio is authorized to make games for Wii U and PS Vita. However, there are “no plans” to get involved with either system at this time.

Players will be able to download and install a small update for the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World when the game launches. Nintendo Life reports that the patch clocks in at 46MB for the European copy. It’s unclear what the update does at present, but the site speculates that it could be related to enabling online and Miiverse connectivity.
Games analyst speculates that uninformed retail staff are partially to blame for poor Wii U sales
Posted on 10 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Nintendo, News, Platforms, Wii U | 4 Comments
“There should have been a Wii Sports-type game that let everybody get it. Those huge franchises would have gotten the loyal Nintendo person, but it was Wii Sports that got all the people outside the Nintendo world to look and say, ‘This is a really, really neat, fun thing to do.’
“I think there was something really special about the Wii and the way that whole thing happened that they didn’t even know was going to happen. I don’t think there was the possibility that the Wii U was ever going to repeat that. I’m not sure they expected that [either].”
– IHS Electronics & Media’s Senior Games Analyst Christine Arrington
Arrington does not give any details on her research, and the only concrete evidence she brings to the table is anecdotal. This appears to be purely speculative.
