Wii

Nintendo crammed the Wii’s OS into the Wii U. So it makes sense that homebrew would still work on the new console. Numerous users have reported that it functions successfully on Wii U, mainly through a Super Smash Bros. Brawl workaround.

Also worth noting, homebrew content doesn’t affect Wii to Wii U transfers. The process shouldn’t encounter any issues, but, of course, all homebrew items will remain on the original Wii.

XSEED has released a ton of games in its history – around fifty titles or so. Out of the entire selection, you may be surprised to hear that The Last Story is the company’s most-successful title ever. That news comes straight from the direct source – XSEED itself.

That’s very encouraging considering the Wii was a “dying console” when The Last Story finally made it to North America. It also bodes well for XSEED’s relationship with Nintendo. We don’t know how many copies The Last Story sold, but XSEED must be pleased.

The official news about the announcement is posted below.

Exploration platforming makes its extensively flawed return, but do the pros outweigh the cons? It’s a strong “maybe”.

I’ve said about the first Epic Mickey that it was a flawed, but ultimately deeply engaging exploration platforming experience. We don’t have enough of the genre these days, so when the inevitable sequel to the game– tag-lined “The Power of Two”– was announced, I felt quite a bit of reserved excitement. If Junction Point could manage to take the good of the first game, strike out the bad, and add just a few minor touches, we would have this generation’s Banjo Kazooie. After playing the game, I still stand by that concept.

The problem is that they didn’t do it.

Metal Slug 4 will likely be Japan’s only Wii Virtual Console game this month. It will be available on the Wii Shop Channel tomorrow for 900 points.

The King of Fighters ’98, also a Neo Geo title, was the last VC game to be released in Japan. That launched on October 23.

At the moment, it’s impossible to transfer LostWinds from a Wii to a Wii U. No one is quite sure why, but there is a fix in the works.

Frontier’s Twitter account said there was “a problem that couldn’t be fixed before WiiU launch.” Fortunately, Nintendo is working on the aforementioned fix.
