Fishing Resort was a bit of an odd localization choice for XSEED. The company traditionally brings over Japanese RPGs and quirkier titles rather than more casual experiences.

XSEED recently explained its decision to localize the game and also commented on Fishing Resort’s sales. Expectedly, the company wishes it had sold more.

XSEED’s Jessica Chavez noted:

“We published it because it is an awesome game. Seriously. It may not be our usual pick, but that game was the most relaxing fun I’ve ever had working. That and Yuji Naka is a cool guy. As for how it did… I’d like it to do more. It’s a criminally overlooked title for how good it is. Call me crazy, but once you wrestle with an alligator gar you won’t be able to put it down.”

Pixel Entertainment has sent us some information clarifying the development of Starbeast and the studio’s other projects.

Starbeast is said to be in a “very early stage in development.” Its slow creation process allowed the team “to fine tune every detail.”

At one point, the game was indeed coming to Wii. But when Pixel Entertainment heard about Wii U, the team decided to switch Starbeast to the new console.

The information we posted over the weekend is outdated. It’s “very different now, due to the extra time.”

Pixel put the project on hold in January. This allowed for the development of a simpler, unannounced 3DS eShop game. Once this new title is done – and we should be hearing about it within a month – development will switch back to Starbeast and a formal announcement will be made before year’s end.

A new downloadable reward is available on Club Nintendo.

Fluidity has been swapped out for NES Play Action Football. The game is available for 100 coins.

You can order NES Play Action Football here. It’s available as a Virtual Console download until September 2.
