This information comes from Julian Widdows, Executive Producer at Activision Blizzard UK…

“Because the console and its audience deserves a cutting edge shooter, because Eurocom and ATVI have something to prove — that Nintendo’s machine is underestimated in terms of its ability to deliver serious, credible, mature experiences — and because it feels so natural to bring GoldenEye home to Nintendo.”

The Wii has some decent shooters available, but I wouldn’t say there are a whole lot of games to choose from if you’re looking for a high-quality product. It’s great to hear that Activision has such strong a passion to deliver an enjoyable experience for Nintendo’s console and that they believe GoldenEye is a perfect match for the Wii.

Get the most out of your Wii or Nintendo DSi by downloading new software directly from the Wii Shop Channel or Nintendo DSi Shop in exchange for Nintendo Points. More information on WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare can be found at the bottom of this article. The following new releases will be available from tomorrow:

WiiWare
New, original games offering something for everyone!

FISHIE FISHIE
Welcome to “FISHIE FISHIE”, a game that can be played with just one button! In “FISHIE FISHIE”, you are a fish that has to eat all the time. You also have to finish several different game modes as quickly as possible. Every second counts. To win, you’ll have to get through over a hundred levels spread over various game modes: “story”, “soccer”, “capture the star”, “survival”, “skill” and a large competition. You can play solo, or up to four people can play on the same screen. In co-op mode or every fishie for himself, it’s no holds barred to win.

Update: The Super Mario Collection Special Pack appears to be a straight-up port. It’ll contain Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario Bros. USA. It isn’t clear how many copies will be printed, and it’ll only be available until the end of 2010.

Golden Sun DS = 28th Oct 2010, 4800yen
Kirby Wii = 14th Oct 2010, 5800yen
Super Mario Collection Special Pack (includes Super Mario History booklet and soundtrack) = 21st Oct 2010, 2500yen

Information about the new Mario title is a bit fuzzy at the moment. It may very well be a port or remake of Super Mario All Stars for Wii. We’ll let you know about additional details as they arrive.

This boxart has yet to be officially confirmed by Nintendo, but this looks pretty official. I’d say it’s likely that this will be the final cover. Do you guys like it?
