Radio station involved with “hold your wee for a Wii” contest death could lose its license
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 1 Comment
Back in early 2007, a contest was held by the “Morning Rave” show on KDND in Sacramento which gave the participants an opportunity to win a Wii by drinking the most water without going to the bathroom. This was when the console was still tough to find, so people were willing to go to some… odd measures in order to secure one for themselves.
Sadly, the Morning Rave’s “Hold Your Wee For A Wii” contest resulted in a terrible happening. Contestant Jennifer Lea Strange passed away due to water intoxication.
The situation was thought to be over after a jury awarded $16,577,188 damages against KDND. However, we’re now hearing that the radio station may lose its licence.
The Drum reports that the Sacramento Media Group and the Media Action Center intend to file legal challenges with the US Federal Communications Commission prior to November 1 – the official deadline – in hopes of contesting the station’s pending eight-year broadcast license renewal. We should find out about any rulings following this date.
FIFA 14 for Wii is also just a kits/squads update
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
FIFA 14 isn’t heading to Wii U, but EA is churning out yet another release for Wii. Unfortunately, it’s more or less the same as FIFA 13, as is the case with the 3DS version.
An Amazon description detected by ONM indicates that FIFA 14 is just another kits/squads update, just like its handheld counterpart. That means no new modes, and no updates to the core gameplay.
Resident Evil 4’s action focus came from “commercial failure” of Resident Evil remake

Resident Evil 4 adopted a fairly different approach than its predecessors. For the game’s development, Capcom decided to make the game more action-oriented.
This was a conscious decision made by Shinji Mikami, who was director of the project. Because the 2002 remake of Resident Evil was a “commercial failure”, Mikami wanted to emphasize gameplay as opposed to scaring players.
Mikami told IGN in a new interview:
Rockstar’s Dan Houser still interested in making a Bully sequel
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii | 0 comments
Bully may not carry the same weight as Grand Theft Auto, but it’s very much loved among those who have played the game. A sequel is something that fans have requested for several years.
Rockstar isn’t working on a sequel – as far as we know. However, the company’s Dan Houser has interest in creating a follow-up.
Speaking with Polygon, Houser said:
“I know I want to. Well, hopefully, you never know. There’s a lot of directions I could go with that one, it’s funny.”
