Switch 2

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma has just received its first major update. This new version should be rolling out now for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players.

A couple of the major things added are 4 boss gauntlets for players who completed the major storyline, additions to village life ranging from a new development zone to inventory expansion, and also additions to social bonds in the game.

EA Sports FC 26 review

System: Switch 2
Release date: September 26, 2025
Developer: EA Sports
Publisher: EA Sports

As a longtime football/soccer fanatic, I’ve played a whole bunch of different video game adaptations of the sport over the years – from ill-fated attempts like Mega Man Soccer, to really fun and engaging versions of the sport like in Mario Strikers or Virtua Striker 2. These are usually exaggerated or watered down versions of the beautiful game that don’t entirely reflect the appeal or the intricacies of the sport at its core, so although they can be serious arcade-y fun, they don’t always scratch the same itch of doing a Cruyff turn and smashing the ball top bins. This is why we have had direct football simulator games, like PES and FIFA, even Football Manager to an extent, really get popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. Getting a red card from a referee in FIFA International Soccer on SEGA Genesis, and choosing to endlessly run away from the official instead of accepting your punishment and coming off the pitch is very silly and fun, but not entirely accurate to the sport itself. As the years have gone on, I’ve played almost every entry in the EA FC/FIFA series, often with my dad. Some of my earliest memories of gaming come from playing against him on the PS1 in FIFA ’99, and as the games have improved in detail and range of play modes, my fondness for the series has grown. I think the newest entry in the series, EA Sports FC 26, truly rivals the best the series has to offer in every department.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide just got its latest trailer showing off Jellyfish Fields.

The full level is the Haunted Jellyfish Fields and Mount Bikini, meaning there’s a frosty twist. This stage also has a battle against Hibernation Sandy.

Here’s some information about the game:

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just a couple of days away, but if you’re wondering how these titles are looking on Nintendo Switch 2, new gameplay has come in to serve that purpose. Footage for both releases is now available showing everything in 4K.

Remember that on Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 maxes out on 1080p. You’ll need to be playing on Nintendo Switch 2 for the resolution upgrade.

Coinciding with the launch of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, we have a new launch trailer. The tactical RPG makes its comeback today, arriving on both Nintendo Switch and Switch.

Lots of details can be found in the following overview:

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 mouse controls

September 15: Another tidbit has surfaced about Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, revealing that mouse controls will be supported on Nintendo Switch 2. This comes from Nintendo’s Japanese website.

Nintendo hasn’t fully detailed how mouse controls work, but we know that they’ll be enabled following a free update. Similar to other games, the feature can be used with the Joy-Con 2. This same update will enable 4K support when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.

Starting today, Nintendo is now offering the latest firmware update on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, which is version 20.5.0.

You may not need us to tell you about this update if you’ve been keeping track of previous ones. That’s because we’re again treated to stability improvements, which keeps in line with tradition. Unfortunately, there’s nothing in the way of new functionality.

Nintendo shares the following regarding today’s firmware:
