A few days ago, Nicalis shared the surprising news that the company wouldn’t be publishing La-Mulana on the North American/European Wii Shop Channels. Nicalis made the announcement even though the game had been confirmed for both regions close to three years ago.
Now Nigoro is sharing their side of the story. La-Mulana’s director Takumi Naramura answered a few questions in an IndieGames interview, commenting on publisher agreements, contracts, any possible deadlines, and more.
Head on past the break for Naramura’s words.

Nnooo’s abandoned project, “Blast”
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Nnooo’s first WiiWare project wasn’t Pop. Prior to this, the studio was considering an idea for a game titled “Blast”. Although it was up and running, Nnooo felt “it was proving too big a game for two people to achieve”.
Blast was shelved, but Nnooo’s Nic Watt told ONM that the studio would be interested in revisiting the project.
According to Watt:
“We were working on a title before Pop called Blast that we had running, but it was proving too big a game for two people to achieve, so we decided to focus on something smaller for the WiiWare launch. We hope to return to Blast sometime in the future.”
Analyst April 2012 NPD prediction: Xenoblade the third best-selling game

Next week’s NPD report could bring along encouraging first month results for Xenoblade Chronicles. Analyst firm PiperJaffray has made some forecasts about the upcoming data, including a prediction that the epic RPG was the third best-selling game in the U.S. last month. If this turns out to be true, I’m sure Nintendo would be more than happy with Xenoblade’s performance in North America thus far.

This is the first time Monster World IV will be released outside of Japan.
So yes, two Virtual Console Wii games in the same week. When was the last time that happened?!
Official Black Ops II Wii board was a mistake
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Call of Duty: Black Ops II has taken a step back in being confirmed for Wii. A Wii version seemed like a strong possibility after it was discovered that Activision has added in an official sub-board on the game’s official forums. This was a just a mistake, however.
An official notice on the Black Ops II forums reads:
Members of the Wii Community — When migrating our forums from Call of Duty: Black Ops to the new site, the “Wii” section migrated with it, which should not have been the case.
To date, we have only confirmed development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. Please stay tuned here for any updates.
A Wii edition may be out of the question – for now, anyway – but Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia did tease a version for the console’s successor.
