James Anderson, a programmer over at Intelligent Systems, is listing a mysterious game for Nintendo’s new console on his LinkedIn profile.

On his CV, Anderson mentions that he’s “currently working on an unannounced title for the Wii U, as well as providing tools support for other internal teams.” There’s speculation that some of his responsibilities could be related to Wii Sports Club, though that’s far from confirmed.

Anderson most recently worked on Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Game & Wario.

In just 24 hours, Mighty No. 9 has smashed through another Kickstarter stretch goal. Combined funds on the crowdfunding site along with PayPal donations exceeded $2.9 million, meaning the title will be receiving an intro stage and boss.

Here’s what the stretch goal specifically entails:

“We add an epic introductory stage—complete with a closing boss encounter—that players will take on before facing any of the Mighty No. boss levels! This will help ease everyone into the world of Mighty No. 9, and serve as a nice primer on the basic game systems and controls!”

Mighty No. 9’s next stretch goal is a support character at $3.1 million. With the rate the Kickstarter is going, that target should be met before the campaign’s end on October 1.

Emily Rogers has returned with another rumor regarding the Wii U’s upcoming update.

A tweet Rogers published a short while ago states that the firmware is going live sometime this week, perhaps as early as Monday.

The tweet reads:

The Wii U’s next update is the second of two major firmware upgrades for the console. Nintendo hasn’t said what will be included, but the system’s speed (loading times and associated elements) should be improved.

New footage of Pokemon X/Y was shown off during the latest episode of Pokemon Smash. It’s been confirmed that players can use a Mega Evolution in combat so long as their opponent also has one available. Mega Evolutions work in that there’s one per trainer, not one per battle.
