This may be the shortest “official” trailer I’ve ever seen. Enjoy nonetheless!

Pandora’s Tower is XSEED’s latest and likely final Wii title localized by the company. It came out during a fairly difficult period – once the Wii U was in the spotlight and at the beginning of the year.

Thankfully, Pandora’s Power did “pretty well”, according to executive vice-president Ken Berry. Had XSEED published the title during the 2012 holiday season, however, it “could have done much better”.

Berry told Siliconera:

“Pandora’s Tower has done pretty well, though not quite the level that The Last Story enjoyed. It probably could have done much better if we could have released it last holiday season rather than the first quarter of this year.”

Capcom is bringing Breath of Fire II to the Wii U Virtual Console. Now it’s just a matter of when.

In a new blog post, the company said that it will be available “in the coming months.” Not exactly a specific date there!

The Nintendo Treehouse is behind pretty much all localized titles that Nintendo puts out on its systems. Mario & Luigi is no exception. Fortunately, senior localization manager Nate Bihldorff says that the characters only require a few tweaks – no major recreations of characters are required:

“Conceptually, all the characters are generally just one tweak away from being awesome. It’s a matter of making it fit better.”

Way back in the day, Yoshihiko Maekawa worked on Super Mario RPG. 17 years later, he’s now with AlphaDream and is still making Mario RPG games through the Mario & Luigi series.

Recently, Maekawa took a moment to reflect on his past work while speaking Kotaku. Maekawa was asked if he has any interest revisiting the world of Super Mario RPG. His answer was pretty clear:

“Actually, I don’t feel like I want to return to that world and use those characters in another game. I feel like I was able to accomplish what I wanted to with that world and those characters and the gameplay ideas that came out of those, and now I mostly feel like I want to make something different.”

Question for you all: would you like to see Nintendo return to Super Mario RPG one day?

Last year, G-Style released the DSiWare title “Jump Trials” (there was also 10 Second Run developed by G-Style and published by Gamebridge, which played similarly). The studio is now working on a follow-up for the 3DS eShop titled “Jump Trials Supreme”.

Game director Shingo Miyazaki said of the new game:

“The inspiration for this third version is ‘evolution.’ We wanted to build on what works in the previous two games and evolve each point to give the players a new experience.”

“The previous games on DSiWare were very well received and we had lots of requests from players to make a new version.”

Along with online rankings, Jump Trials Supreme will offer special DLC:

“We’re planning to include a theme pack based on our zombie shooting game Undead Storm (published in America and Europe by Gamebridge). The pack will change the player character, block graphics, backgrounds, UI and sounds. There will also be exclusive stages for the challenge mode.”

Jump Trials Supreme will be out in Japan in November. Expect an overseas release sometime in the future.
