Assassin’s Creed III contains a reference teasing what would be the next entry in the series, Black Flag. At one point in the game, Connor mentions that sailing runs in his family and how Edward Kenway – the star of Assassin’s Creed IV and Connor’s grandfather – “sailed with a rough crew”. Take a look at the video above for the pertinent scene.
As was previously rumored, Nintendo is bringing the Pikachu 3DS XL stateside. Retailers have already started to obtain product ahead of the system’s official release. A street date has apparently been set for March 24.
We’ll probably be receiving the official word from Nintendo about the special 3DS XL tomorrow. The Pokemon Company sent out a tweet earlier today teasing the announcement.
A couple of new items are on sale at Amazon. First up, both versions of Adventure Time are going for $19.54 currently. You can also purchase a Wii Classic Controller Pro for $13 – specifically, the white model.
Remember, the Wii Classic Controller Pro is not the same as the Wii U Pro Controller. You can, however, use a Wii Classic Controller Pro with a Wii U in some instances.
Seijiro Tomita took Nintendo to court over a glasses-free 3D patent last month after filing a lawsuit back in 2011. Today, a New York federal jury ruled against the company, which will be forced to pay $30.2 million in damages.
Tomita was granted a patent in 2008 for technology that allows users to see 3D content without special glasses. While Nintendo did meet with Tomita in 2003, the hardware manufacturer argued that he was one of many providers it met with and, as The Verge notes, “avoided key aspects of his patent.” The jury sided with Tomita in the end, resulting in the guilty verdict for Nintendo.
Toki Tori 2 developer Two Tribes has some interest in working on Nintendo’s legendary Star Fox series. Taking things further, studio co-founder Collin van Ginkel told Nintendo Chronicle that the studio “could make a damn fine Star Fox game for Wii U.”
van Ginkel said:
“I think we could make a damn fine Star fox game for Wii U. Yes, a classic Star fox game would be awesome to work on.”
Nintendo has been more open to letting other studios touch their IPs over the past few years… while I don’t think it’s likely that Two Tribes would ever work on a Star Fox project, you never know!
Frank Olivera used to be the VP of corporate communications and public affairs for Gamestop, but recently it was found that he had been stealing money from the company and transferring it to a fake company he had created (“Cloud Communications LLC”) before transferring it to his personal bank account. The total amount stolen added up to over $1.7 million dollars, which is, according to the courts, enough for him to be sentenced to 51 months (just over four years) in prison.
On top of that, he must return the stolen funds and an extra $134,651 in additional costs.
– ESRB Statement
– Publishers and developers can now create “General Audience” trailers for M-rated games that won’t require an age gate to watch
– If one of these is made, it must begin with a four-second statement reading “The content of this trailer has been approved for a general audience.” with a green background, similar to what you see in a movie theatre before previews
– M-rated games can now be marketed alongside lower-rated games, if the two games appeal to the same audience (ie. you can put a God of War pamphlet inside of the Uncharted game box)
