We’re about an hour away from Nintendo’s 3DS software showcase, the company’s last event of E3 2012. As the name implies, it’ll be focusing on the 3DS entirely.

New Super Mario Bros. 2, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will all be on display. Third-party games will be highlighted as well. No idea if there will be any new announcements, but we should probably set the bar extremely low to avoid any disappointment.

A live-stream will be made available here. We’ll also post a stream to NE if it’s embed-able.

MercurySteam has confirmed it has no plans to bring Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to Wii U.

GameSpot asked producer David Cox was asked about the possibility. Cox responded by saying, “Unfortunately, we have no plans for Wii U right now.”

Nintendo fans will be able to get their Castlevania fix on the 3DS when Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate launches later this year.

1UP has gone live with a new interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. The legendary Nintendo designer commented on the future of the games industry, plans for Wii U/3DS connectivity, and more.

As usual, we’ve rounded up the questions and answers for you below.

A Nintendo representative at E3 2012 has revealed that each of the company’s games on the show floor will ship with native 720p support. Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Pikmin 3 are included in this.

When asked if titles could be upscaled to 1080p, the same representative noted that the “native resolution is 720p for all titles showcased”.

In other news, Pikmin 3 will run at 60 frames per second on Wii U.

Thanks to James for the tip.
