REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 18, 2012 – Nintendo 3DS™ owners soon will be able to play free downloadable demo versions of select games. Starting tomorrow, owners can go to the Nintendo eShop to download a free demo version of Resident Evil® Revelations from Capcom. A free demo version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games™ published by SEGA will launch on Jan. 26. The Nintendo eShop will be periodically updated with new game demos.
“The demo program allows Nintendo 3DS players to be among the first to test-drive select games,” said Tony Elison, Nintendo of America’s senior director and general manager of Network Business. “Players can try out new genres or series, often weeks before the full versions are available in stores.”
A second Theatryhtm Final Fantasy eShop demo is heading to Japan.
Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura shared the news with Famitsu. Nomura didn’t announce a specific day for its release, but it should arrive soon as the game is due out in less than a month.
Kingdom Hearts games are known for their secret endings. The latest game in the series, Dream Drop Distance, will continue the tradition.
Director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu that Kingdom Hearts 3D’s secret ending will shock players. He also said that it relates to the next title in the series.
Dream Drop Distance has a normal ending as well. Nomura described it as being atypical.

Ubisoft Vancouver has been shut down. A spokesperson confirmed the news to Game Informer earlier today.
It was explained that Ubisoft “haven’t found the right formula for success for the talented team there.”
The spokesperson said:
“Ubisoft confirms that we have made the difficult decision to close its studio in Vancouver. Unfortunately, we haven’t found the right formula for success for the talented team there. We thank our Vancouver team for their hard work and the projects that they have delivered. Team members will have the opportunity to consider positions in other Ubisoft studios and we will work with each of them to help find the best next step, whether it be within Ubisoft or outside.”
Ubisoft Vancouver created a variety of sports titles, including Academy of Champions for Wii. The studio formed following Ubisoft’s acquisition of Action Pants back in 2006.
