Next week, Nintendo will be revealing a Japanese launch date and price for the 3DS, along with other information about the handheld. But what about North America and Europe? Well, according to IGN, foreign press will not be able to attend the event, and it doesn’t sound like Nintendo will be holding any sort of conference overseas. Because of this, it’s very likely that most launch details will only pertain to Japan. This news worries me a bit that we won’t see the 3DS in North America/Europe this year, but we won’t know anything for sure until Wednesday.
It’s true that the sprite comparisons are at the same angle, but you can’t deny that there King Hippo and Donkey Kong are alike in many ways. Just look at the positions of the characters’ arms. Heck, even their facial expressions are comparable!

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – September 21, 2010 – Atlus U.S.A., Inc., today announced that Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City, the third chapter in the acclaimed series of exploration RPGs for Nintendo DSTM, has sailed into stores across North America.
A limited edition first-run “Explorer’s Poster” is included free in the first manufacturing run of the game. The dual-sided, collectible poster is a full-color, two-sided affair: on one, a lush collage of characters set against the crystal blue backdrop of Armoroad’s seas. On the other, skill trees for all of the starting character classes, offering fledgling adventurers invaluable insight for their crucial initial customization decisions.
The image above – which is a confirmed picture from EA’s My Garden demonstration video at TGS – indicates what the backlit buttons would look like on the 3DS. It’s not exactly the biggest feature in the world, but I do think it’s a nice touch. What do you guys think? Is it something you like? Or do you just not care?! “With regards to Worms: Battle Islands for Wii, a title we announced some time back, it became increasingly clear that by switching the game from WiiWare to a boxed retail Wii title, we would be able to make the game available to as many Worms fans on the platform as possible. We are pleased that through the THQ Partners program, we will have a strong retail presence for Worms: Battle Islands on Wii coming into the important holiday season.” – Team17 statement
For awhile, I wasn’t interested in the Worms series at all. That is, until I tried a demo of Worms: Open Warfare 2 from the Nintendo Channel. From that point on, I was pretty much hooked… So much so that I must have kept my DS on for a month so that I wouldn’t lose the demo! I’m expecting Battle Islands to be just as enjoyable, and I’ll be picking up a copy when it releases.
