– Sakaguchi said something like “How about stopping with the Final Fantasy rehashes? on Twitter to Final Fantasy Gaiden director
– Also said “I think you’ll feel this once you’ve tried it. LS is not a rehash.”
– Sakaguchi won’t say who is composing the game yet
– One person doing the whole soundtrack
– Part of Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker blog update: “The weather doesn’t clear up, but my heart is clearing up. This is because I shut myself up with the development team every day and am able to feel The Last Story being born. It’s finally off from the creator’s hands and has begun to move on its own — like always. It’s like a living creature. It breaths on its own, it speaks on its own. It’s fascinating, even though its spirit is digital data.”

My hypothesis: Wii is at least as good as Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360, if not better, at selling ‘core’ third party titles.

It seems to me that in the last year and a half, third party Wii developers have been complaining more and more about how the Wii has caused their games to fail, and subsequently lose money. Is this true? Well, developers have definitely lost money, but I don’t believe it’s the fault of the Wii, and the reason is simple: People are making comparisons that take average-reviewed niche games and compare them with critically acclaimed mainstream games. The fact of the matter is that comparing No More Heroes to Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 is just ridiculous, because no matter what system a game like No More Heroes is released on it will not sell as well as a mainstream shooter game. Therefore, the goal of this article is to compare the sales of a game like No More Heroes to another game in its genre with similar review scores, rather than taking unfair comparisons and basing my judgments off of them.

Captivate seems to have turned into an annual event for Capcom. The company has confirmed that Captivate will once again take place this year. You can expect the company to reveal a few games as well as feature already-announced titles. Keiji Infaune – as well as other producers and directors – will be attending. You guys know what I want: An official North American localization announcement for Okamiden!

Update: We now have some clarification from Mr. Cuthbert. Basically, you shouldn’t really read into what was said. Still, though, I’d love to see Q-Games work on a title for the 3DS.

This information comes from Dylan Cuthbert’s Twitter. Cuthbert is the founder of Q-Games.

“@kamidphish The main problem is the top secret hardware we are always working on – there’s no way to do that work outside of the office”

One obvious possibility here is that Q-Games is working on some sort of project for the 3DS. The system is still under wraps somewhat and the company has developed a number of titles for Nintendo, including Star Fox Command. However, Q-Games also has some ties to Sony and created games for them as well. So I’m assuming that Cuthbert was either referring to the 3DS or something Sony related.

Thanks to Kyle for the news tip!
