Following the steady drip of titles from Falcom’s Legend of Heroes series, Trails into Reverie is the latest installment coming to western players. As before with Trails to Azure, our latest game is also interwoven into a storied timeline. This time, we’ll be following up after the events of Trails to Azure and the Great Twilight events of Trails of Cold Steel IV. With these stories being so connected, there are no ways to absolutely avoid spoilers for the previous games, but we’ll do the best we can in case this is your first introduction to the series. With this particular entry first launching in Japan, the Switch port will see the world of Zero/Azure in HD for the first time, and follow up almost immediately after the events of Trails of Cold Steel IV – the interwoven timeline for both lines of games finally converges, and both protagonist groups of Lloyd and Rean are joined by a third protagonist – the black-clad and mysteriously masked “C.”

Ahead of the western release for The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, NIS America and Falcon have shared a new gameplay trailer. The RPG has different features with players being able to execute unique Crafts, wield mystical Arts, and use abilities such as Brave Orders and United Fronts to unleash the full power of their team.

Ys X: Nordics revealed for Switch, new details and screenshots

Original (12/15): Falcom had previously announced that the next installment in the Ys series would be making its way to Switch, and we now have a few more details on the title. The game is officially titled Ys X: Nordics, and will be releasing on Switch in Japan in 2023.
Ys X: Nordics is releasing to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary. It’s set to expand gameplay in new directions for the franchise, such as by offering expanded control of multiple characters through a new “Cross Action” system or introducing sailing and naval battles as a core feature.

Fans of The Legend of Heroes series will no doubt point out that both original PSP titles Trails from Zero and now its sequel Trails to Azure have an almost legendary status amongst turn-based RPG fans. While access to these games was once difficult to attain, fan translations from The Geofront have actually led to the official English release of this duology for the very first time – showing that hard work, love, and dedication to something can truly pay off in a huge way for players. As a follow-up to The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, this entry ties up the ends to the Crossbell arc, which is lauded by some as the absolute pinnacle of the series as a whole. Falcom’s RPG Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is heading to Switch, the company revealed today. The game is due out on June 29, 2023 in Japan.
Tokyo Xanadu eX saw its initial release in 2015. It was followed up with Tokyo Xanadu eX+, an enhanced version of the game, a year later. This marks the title’s first appearance on a Nintendo platform.
