Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Thanks to Kirby and the Rainbow Curse’s upcoming Japanese launch, we knew that the game would be seeing a budget release of some sort. We just weren’t entirely sure how much the price would be in the west.

New listings on EB Games and Amazon Canada seem to reveal Kirby’s updated price in North America. On both retailer sites, the game is listed for $44.99 CDN. That would translate to $39.99 in the states (based on Captain Toad’s pricing). It should end up being a pretty great value!

Nintendo confirmed during last week’s Nintendo Direct that Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is launching in North America sometime in February. However, a specific date wasn’t shared… until today.

Over on the official Nintendo Console Gaming Facebook page, the company said that Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will be available on February 13. The full post is as follows:

Japan will be the first to receive Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, as the game is launching in that territory on January 22.

Thanks to Phil S for the tip.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse won’t be a full-priced game in Japan. During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the Wii U title will cost only 3,700 yen, which would probably come to around $40 in the states. It’ll be interesting to see how Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is priced overseas!
