REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Video game fans will get the chance to play as the baddest bad guy of The Legend of Zelda video game series. Ganondorf, nemesis of Link and aspiring Triforce owner, will become a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors video game, which launches Sept. 26 for the Wii U home console. Hyrule Warriors combines two classic video game franchises, The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors, and challenges players to face off against hordes of enemies in epic battles. Some of the information discussed in the Nintendo Direct included:

Today’s Hyrule Warriors Direct closed things out with one more character reveal: Ganondorf. He’ll be playable along with several other notable characters from the Zelda series.

Ganondorf’s signature weapon is his Demon Sword.

A new “Adventure Mode” has been revealed for Hyrule Warriors. This special feature combines the worlds of the original Zelda with Hyrule Warriors.

In Adventure Mode, players will encounter certain challenges to open new blocks on the classically-styled Zelda map. Characters and weapons can be unlocked here.

New playable characters have been confirmed for Hyrule Warriors, courtesy of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. Zant and Ghirahim will both be included on the roster. The two previously appeared in Zelda games.

Zant’s signature weapon is his schimitar, which he swings around. Meanwhile, Ghirahim’s signature weapon is his Demon Blade – just like in Skyward Sword he will be a savant in sword play.
