Another Monday means another update to Pokemon Shuffle. Several events, including the Mega Charizard one, came to an end today. If you placed high enough, you can claim your Charizardite Y today if you check in.

Keldeo makes a return to the game, having previously been available a couple of months ago. You’ve got one week to catch it.

Finally, Latias is available for the first time via an escalation battle. As per usual, the stage’s level goes up by one each time you beat it, as does Latias’ capture chance. Of interest, however, is that Latias’ Mega Stone, Latiasite, is also available in this stage. You have to beat this escalation battle at level 50 to get it.

Another update has landed on the 3DS version of Pokemon Shuffle today. As of now, players can now take on a stage that nets them Regice. The event will last until September 28 and requires version 1.2.17 to download.

This week, Famitsu has an interview with Pokemon president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. Ishihara touched on Pokemon Shuffle, Pokken Tournament, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, and a bit about the future – including an extremely brief NX name-drop.

Regarding Pokemon Shuffle, Ishihara reconfirmed that the game has reached five million downloads. The title, which just recently hit smart devices, was originally intended to be released from the start on smartphones and 3DS. The 3DS demographic is more around those at middle school while smartphones users are geared more toward adults. The main message they wanted to convey is that the app can be cleared from the start with no charges.

Pokken Tournament came about from a desire to see more realistic Pokemon movements. Even though it’s made by the Tekken team, it has a different flavor and feel than that series and it does not necessarily appeal to a different demographic. Ishihara points out that it’s easy to understand fighting games, and its systems are straightforward and simple to pick up on.

Several new updates have hit Pokemon Shuffle (as well as Pokemon Shuffle Mobile). Here’s a roundup of the latest additions to the game:

– The Rayquaza stage has begun on Pokemon Shuffle Mobile, runs for two weeks
– The Registeel stage is now available on Pokemon Shuffle
– Mega Charizard challenge now live on Pokemon Shuffle & Pokemon Shuffle Mobile
– New main stages added on both Pokemon Shuffle and Pokemon Shuffle Mobile
– The Mew stage makes a return in Pokemon Shuffle, runs until Sept 28
