January 22: During a live stream event today, Marvelous revealed that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is receiving a Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin collaboration.
Not much about the partnership was confirmed. However, a quick look was shown with a video during that live stream. The collaboration makes sense given the similar settings and how they’re both under the Marvelous brand.

Marvelous has shared some interesting information about how the Nintendo Switch 2 physical release of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma works.
First, we should note that the entire game is on the cartridge. That means the Upgrade Pack is already present – you won’t need to download anything extra. Marvelous has decided to go with a 64GB to ensure that everything is included.

January 14: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma now has a release date. As reported by Famitsu, the game launches on May 30, 2025.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was previously teased with a Project Dragon subtitle before the final name was shared last summer. Last we heard, it was planned for this spring, which Marvelous is sticking with.

As part of today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Rune Factory: Project Dragon resurfaced with a new title, and going forward it’ll be called Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. Marvelous will ship it in Spring 2025.

During the Marvelous Games Showcase 2024, Rune Factory: Project Dragon protagonists Subaru and Kaguya were properly shown.
Similar to past games, you’ll be able to choose with character to play as. You’ll play as a variation of an Earthmate known as the Earth Dancer, saving the world through dance. It’ll be possible to use parasols, drums, swords, and more. Earth Dancers wield various abilities in and out of combat using the power of dance. Bows and talismans will be included, which are new to the series.

Marvelous has announced a new Rune Factory game titled Rune Factory: Project Dragon.
Rune Factory: Project Dragon is a spinoff set in the eastern lands. The game features a Japanese-style aesthetic new to the series. Players can expect an experience unique from the main series while expanding upon familiar elements like day-to-day life, adventuring, and romantic pursuits.
