Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

September 12: Following recent rumors, Square Enix has announced a remake of Dragon Quest 7 which is Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. The news was just shared in today’s Nintendo Direct – it’ll be on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

Square Enix has been on a tear with Dragon Quest remakes as of late. Last year, we saw Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. That’ll be followed up with Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake next month.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 release date

September 12: Monster Hunter Stories 3, which was announced not too long ago, has already secured its release date. Capcom will have it ready to go on March 13, 2026.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 was first shown off in a previous Nintendo Direct. However, it was initially given a vague 2026 launch window.

Dinkum

September 12: The life sim Krafton is set to publish Dinkum on Nintendo Switch, the company has announced. It’s due out on November 5, 2025 as a timed console exclusive. A demo goes live today.

Dinkum is a survival life simulation game inspired by the Australian outback. You can learn more about it in the following overview:

September 12: Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are returning in a new collection. This launches on October 2, 2025.

The two titles will be sold together as a physical bundle. Both of these titles will be available individually on the Nintendo eShop as well.

These are largely the same games as they were on Wii. There are some extra bells and whistles though, including enhanced resolution, improved UI, Assist Mode, and new Storybook content.

One of the longest Nintendo Directs ever just took place yesterday with the September 2025 presentation. Nintendo itself presented the latest news for both Switch 2 and Switch, but third-parties chimed in as well.

From Nintendo, games that are new announcements included Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Mario Tennis Fever, Pokemon Pokopia, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Other highlights include the Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and Metroid Prime 4 and Hyrule Wariors: Age of Imprisonment release dates. From third-parties, we saw Resident Evil Requiem (plus Resident Evil 7 and Village), Fatal Frame 2 Remake, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, and Danganronpa 2×2. It’ll be just a little while longer until we see Persona 3 Reload, but now fans can get a taste of the RPG early. Atlus has confirmed that it’s putting out a demo today. You’ll be able to grab it via the Nintendo eShop.

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave

Nintendo will release Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on Nintendo Switch 2, it’s been revealed. The game launches in 2026.

This was the closer for today’s Nitnendo Direct. For the most part though, we don’t have much to go on. Nintendo teases: “The Heroic Games have begun. The newest entry in the Fire Emblem series is set to enter the arena.”

Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2

It’s official: Resident Evil Requiem is inbound for Nintendo Switch 2. The game launches on February 27, 2026.

That’s not the only news about the series. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village are on the way as well – both are launching on the same day.
