Super Mario 3D World on Switch is largely the same as it was on Wii U, but there are a few changes and additions. Among them is in the inclusion of online multiplayer for the first time.

A few tidbits have come in concerning the performance of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

By all accounts, the main game brought over from Wii U runs at 60 frames per second in docked and handheld modes. With Bowser’s Fury though, things are a bit more complicated.

A bunch of footage came in for the Switch release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury earlier today, which gave a look at the new campaign. However, none of the videos showed actually showed off the boss fight with Fury Bowser. That’s now changed thanks to a minute-long gameplay clip.

A bunch of new footage has emerged for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury showing the original Wii U adventure as well as the additional campaign for the Switch release. We’ve rounded up a bunch of videos below.

Nintendo has revealed another change – or addition depending on how you look at it – for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

On Wii U, there were certain stages that used touch controls on the GamePad. Nintendo says that the Switch version now supports gyro controls in these sections.

One of the new aspects of Bowser’s Fury in Super Mario 3D World for Switch involves Bowser Jr. The character will be with you along the way and provides help by fighting enemies as well as uncovering power-ups. A friend can even play as Bowser Jr. in local co-op.

It looks like you’ll actually be able to adjust how often Bowser Jr. provides help. Nintendo sent out a Japanese screenshot of the settings for Bowser’s Fury, and while we can only seen one of the options, it equates to something like “from time to time” or “a little”.
