Super Mario Odyssey early tech analysis, docked vs. portable comparison

Digital Foundry was able to take Super Mario Odyssey for a test run earlier this month. Even before the final launch, the outlet spotted some notable improvements over the E3 build. We’re also able to see how Odyssey stacks up in handheld mode.
One notable improvement to point out right away is the docked resolution. Previously, Super Mario Odyssey ran at 1280×720. It has since changed to 1600×900. Worth noting, Super Mario Odyssey has the highest resolution of a 3D Mario to date while still running at 60 frames per second.

When the New 3DS was announced, Nintendo had some commercials in Japan featuring Japanese singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu to show off the new product.
Well it seems the outfit that Mario wore in one of advertisements for the New 3DS has found its way in Super Mario Odyssey as an outfit that Mario can wear. The outfit now known as the “Fashionable Outfit” was shown in one of the gameplay footage video we posted up earlier, which you can check out here.

Super Mario Odyssey file size
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 48 Comments
Nintendo tends to keep its games relatively small. With Super Mario Odyssey, the trend continues. A listing on Nintendo’s Japanese store shows that just 5.7GB will be required for the digital version.
Other Nintendo-published Switch games are similarly small. ARMS is just 2.2GB and Splatoon 2 is 3.1GB, for instance.
In case you’re curious, Super Mario Odyssey is a bigger than the last Mario 3D outing. On Wii U, Super Mario 3D World is about 1.7GB.

Mr. Game and Watch has a reference in Super Mario Odyssey
Posted on 7 years ago by Andrew in News, Screenshots, Switch | 0 comments
A Reddit user named TacoBeans44 posted on the Nintendo Reddit page that there seems to be a Mr. Game and Watch reference in the latest Super Mario Odyssey trailer. The mini-games you can play in the different Kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey have different icons that closely resembles Mr. Game & Watch. A nice little callback due to Mario’s history on the Game & Watch handhelds.
