Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo has issued a press release that recaps all of the news from today’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation for Pyra/Mythra. Director Masahiro Sakurai just wrapped up the broadcast to properly introduce the new fighter.

When Pyra and Mythra join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, they won’t be the only new DLC for the game. During a presentation today, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed the latest set of Mii Fighter costumes.

Hunter Equipment (Swordfighter), Rathalos Equipment (Swordfighter), and Felyne (Hat) from Monster Hunter are represented. Arthur (Swordfighter) from Ghosts ‘n Goblins is also included.

A couple of weeks ago, Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Pyra and Mythra were revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Director Masahiro Sakurai is currently hosting a presentation that offers a closer look at the new fighter, and we’ve just received a release date. The DLC launches today.

Pyra and Mythra are a two-in-one character. The same DLC includes a new stage based on Xenoblade Chronicles 2, new music tracks, and new spirits.

Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during the most recent Nintendo Direct, and director Masahiro Sakurai will now be giving us a deep dive during a 35-minute presentation. We should be getting some news as well including a release date, more Mii Fighter costumes, and perhaps other bits. The fun begins at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM in the UK / 3 PM in Europe.

Nintendo has released the latest Switch Online bonus for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Members of the service can now download Spirits Set 1, which can be accessed from the eShop.

During the latest episode of Washa Live hosted by writer Mafia Kajita and voice actor Yuichi Nakamura, Masahiro Sakurai stopped by for a chat. Given the popularity of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate it’s only natural that he was asked about the game.

Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will soon be joining the Smash Bros. roster, and there have been all sorts of reactions to the reveal. Some fans have been disappointed to see another sword fighter being added to the game. However, as part of the conversation, the Smash Bros. director reiterated that those kinds of decisions aren’t up to him.

Nintendo has announced this week’s event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It’ll be a Pokemon tournament, featuring fighters, stages, and items from the series. It’ll be held for three days starting on March 5.

In other news, Nintendo says that a new 11.0 update is coming soon for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Players are advised to back up any replay data they have by converting it to video. Mythra/Pyra are releasing this month, so version 11.0 should be dropping at the same time.

Nintendo will air a Mr. Sakurai Presents “Pyra/Mythra” presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on March 4, the company has announced. The broadcast will be roughly 35 minutes long, and there will announcements regarding additional fighters.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is celebrating this week’s launch of Bravely Default II with a new Spirit Board event. Spirits based on the game will be up for grabs later this week, Nintendo has announced.

The Bravely Default II Spirit Board event begins on February 26. It’ll last for a total of five days.
