Zelda Tears Kingdom 70 price Doug Bowser

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser has now commented on the decision to price The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at $70.

The news surrounding how much the game would cost was recently a big topic of discussion. This marks the first time that Nintendo is launching a title at $70 – its previous releases have been $60, with some costing less than that.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom art book leak

It seems we have a new look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with images that have surfaced from the official art book.

We know that the art book will be included in the collector’s edition, which was just revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct. One of the images lines up with what we saw from the official product image, but a bunch of additional shots have surfaced. It goes without saying, but spoilers lie ahead.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom survey details

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom received its latest trailer this week, but Nintendo has been very careful in which it’s choosing to show. Even though the game is just a few months out, there’s not a ton we know. It’ll naturally be a follow-up to Breath of the Wild and that alone should give us a decent idea as to what we can expect, but fans are interested in finding out how the sequel will set itself apart.

Hints of what Tears of the Kingdom will have to offer have now been spotted via a Nintendo survey that went out this week. A couple of Reddit users say that this was emailed to them (once in France, another presumably in the UK).

At the end of the latest Nintendo Direct, we finally got a meaty look at the heavily anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What secrets lie beyond in this 2 minute and 16 second trailer? Sam and I break down every frame to find out.

You can check out the full video below. It contains theories about Zelda’s role, possible new mechanics, important character reveals, and story themes abound.

Nintendo $70 comment

Nintendo made it official today that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will cost $70, but that doesn’t mean it’s a sign of things to come. Game Informer managed to get a couple of comments from the company about the situation that may clarify things slightly.

As for why the new Zelda game is priced the way it is, Nintendo simply stated: “We determine the suggested retail price for any Nintendo product on a case-by-case basis.” Game Informer also asked if this is the trend for Nintendo games in the future, to which the Big N said: “No. We determine the suggested retail price for any Nintendo product on a case-by-case basis.”

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom price 70

Original (2/7): A listing for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo’s website is receiving a lot of attention at the moment for its price point. Assuming it’s accurate, the game could go for $70. This would be significant as we have yet to see any Nintendo game reach that amount in the United States.

Right now we only have the listing to go on and Nintendo hasn’t shared any statement about the situation. It’s possible that it could be a mistake, but it’s impossible to tell currently. Worth noting, various retailers still have the $60 price point – you can reserve the game on Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop.

We have a ton of new screenshots for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom directly from Nintendo. The game was just shown off in a Nintendo Direct today.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED

Rumor has it that a new Switch OLED design is on the way for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Reddit user AyoadeNBN shared the photos without much context. However, this person claims that the model was leaked by a worker at a Chinese factory or someone else within the manufacturing line. Apparently the Splatoon 3 Switch OLED had leaked in a similar manner.
