Toys “R” Us says Lucario amiibo pre-orders aren’t being cancelled
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
Toys “R” Us cancelled a truckload of amiibo pre-orders earlier today. Chances are if you had a figure reserved there, you received an email notice today that your reservation had been canned.
It appears that – at least for the Lucario amiibo – cancelled orders came about due to a “technical issue”. Joystiq reports that pre-orders for the figure will be honored.
Toys “R” Us said:
“We thank you for your patience as we work to remedy this situation and ensure our customers receive the products ordered.”
Toys “R” Us cancels a bunch of amiibo pre-orders, re-opens reservations for Lucario and more

Last night, Toys “R” Us went on an amiibo cancelling binge. I would know, as I received three such notices for Lucario, Pit, and Captain Falcon.
Strangely enough, several amiibo are now back in stock and are available for pre-order again – namely Lucario, Ike, and King Dedede. Hopefully Toys “R” Us doesn’t pull any additional stunts!

Update 2: Gone again (thanks Chris G)!
Update: (12/9): Currently back in stock (thanks Luke K)! Pre-order here.
It’ll be a couple of more months before the wave three amiibo hit store shelves. However, the Toys “R” Us exclusive figure Lucario has already sold out on the retailer’s website. Whether or not additional stock will be made available before or at launch remains to be seen.
Toys “R” Us not carrying the Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Marth amiibo any longer
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 6 Comments
Since we’ve received so many different answers at this point, it’s not entirely clear if the Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Marth amiibo have been discontinued. The latest answer from Nintendo indicates that this is the case, but we still haven’t received total clarification.
At least when it comes to Toys “R” Us, the three aforementioned amiibo will not be stocked again. Check out a SKU listing taken from one of the retailer’s scan guns above. You’ll notice the little “X” in the picture, indicating that the Villager amiibo is gone forever. Destructoid also obtained photos showing the same status for Wii Fit Trainer and Marth.

Toys “R” Us is running a special sale on Wii U games over the next couple of days. You can purchase one Wii U title and get another for 40% off. This works particularly well given that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker came out today.
Note that the Toys “R” Us deal is not valid online. You’ll need to head on over to a local store.
Lucario amiibo is exclusive to Toys “R” Us

Lucario is the latest retailer-exclusive amiibo. If you’re interested in the figure and live in the U.S., you’ll only be able to purchase Lucario at Toys “R” Us.
There are at least two other retailer-exclusive amiibos as well. Shulk will only be available at GameStop, and Best Buy will be the only store selling Meta Knight.
Toys “R” Us: 3 for $30 on all amiibo figures next week
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 9 Comments
Toys “R” Us will be running a slight deal on amiibo figures next week. If you buy three, you’ll be able to get them for $30.
amiibo figures will typically be priced at $12.99 (not sure why the ad above lists $13.99). So by taking advantage of the Toys “R” Us deal, you’ll save nearly $10.
The deals shown above will technically begin on November 16, and will last through November 22. But since amiibo isn’t launching until November 21, you’ll only have a couple of days to take advantage of the sale.
