Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2’s new Splat Brella weapon was added to the game earlier tonight. Get a closer look at it in the video below.

A new weapon is being added to Splatoon 2 tonight in North America, and tomorrow in Europe. The Splat Brella is the first of its kind of weapon to be available in the game. Previously, unlike with other weapon, you did not receive the Hero Brella Replica for beating all singleplayer stages with it. It’s likely that this will now work once the Splat Brella has been added. The Splat Brella comes with the Sprinkler sub-weapon and the Ink Storm special.

Nintendo posted a video yesterday showing a speedrun of the “Octozeppelin Invasion” level in Splatoon 2’s single-player campaign. The stage was completed in just over a minute using a variety of techniques. It’s pretty impressive, to say the least.

We also may as well mention here that Nintendo has issued a new Splatoon 2 wallpaper on its Japanese website. You can access it here.

Thanks to KobobKC for the tip.

Some special gear is coming to Splatoon 2. Available exclusively via the SplatNet 2 Gear Shop in the Nintendo Switch Online app, the “Summer Vacation Collection” will be available to purchase from August 11th till August 16th.

Nintendo has posted the results for Splatoon 2’s first European Splatfest. As was the case in North America and Japan, mayonnaise was the winner.

Ketchup was significantly more popular than mayonnaise. However, thanks to one percent wins in both solo and team battles, mayonnaise came out on top.

The final score: mayonnaise: 2, ketchup: 1.

Splatoon 2 fans have been busy datamining the game’s 1.1.1 update, and have apparently made a number of interesting discoveries regarding maps, weapons, and more. If you’re interested in seeing everything that was uncovered, continue on below as compiled by Reddit’s OatmealDome.

The results are in for the first true North American Splatfest in Splatoon 2. Ultimately, it was mayonnaise that beat out ketchup.

Ketchup was much more popular than mayonnaise with 73 percent of the vote. However, mayonnaise took home the battles – just barely so – in the other categories. That helped Team Mayonnaise win by a score of 2-1.

Mayonnaise was also victorious in Japan. We should be finding out about the European results later today.

The first actual Splatfest for Splatoon 2 has drawn to a close in Japan. It was a close race all around, but ultimately, Team Mayonnaise came out on top.

Mayonnaise edged out ketchup in terms of both popularity and solo battles respectively at 56 percent and 51 percent respectively. However, ketchup did have one slight victory in team battles at 51 percent.

The final tally was two points for Team Mayonnaise and one point for Team Ketchup.

We’ll have to see how the other Splatfests play out this weekend.

Sploosh-o-matic was added to Splatoon 2 tonight as the newest weapon in the game. Take a look at some footage of it in action below.

So it looks like when you reach 200,000p in Splatoon 2 you get a couple of wallpapers via SplatNet 2 on the Nintendo Switch Online app. It’s a nice little extra for playing the game.
