Not convinced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is launching on November 13? Don’t believe that the Target pre-order cards are real? Still have some skepticism about the game’s rumored boxart? Well, you can cast those doubts aside, as an image sent in to Gaming Everything validates all of the speculation.

The text perfectly matches the font from the Target pre-order cards. Additionally, the art surrounding the logo mimics the image from the poster, promo box, and boxart – all of which have leaked out this month.

So there you have it. Yes, the next Call of Duty is Black Ops 2 (stylized as “II”), and it’s launching on November 13, 2012.

Walmart has reduced the cost of the DSi XL (Metallic Rose, the only color carried online) to $129.96. It’s a rollback item, meaning this has a decent chance of being a permanent price drop. The $40 cut is listed in this week’s ad as well.

Before this, the DSi XL had been retailing for $169.99. This could be the first significant price drop for the handheld since the 3DS’ launch – the price remained the same even after the 3DS went down from $249.99 to $169.99.

The DSi is still going for $149.99, by the way.

The next 3DS color variation in North America could be “Midnight Purple”. An entry for the product has been found on the Sam’s Club website.

Prior to this discovery, a member of the GameFAQs message boards claimed that his local EB Games listed the Midnight Purple 3DS for May 20.

If Nintendo makes an official announcement about the new color, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

These images show off next week’s Fire Emblem: Awakening downloadable content. Three different scenarios will be available, which feature characters such as Micaiah and Ike. You can find more information about this DLC here.

Amazon is offering a pre-order bonus for Kingdom Hearts 3D. Consumers can receive a set of AR cards by ordering the game early. The cards, which give access to exclusive Dream Eaters, will be included in the package.

You can pre-order Kingdom Hearts 3D from Amazon here.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is one of the best-selling games in the series in quite some time. Fire Emblem: Shin Monsho no Nazo: Hikari to Kage no Eiyu for the DS sold 136,000 in its first week and 274,000 in its lifetime. Radiant Dawn sold 75,000 copies in its first week and 180,000 in its lifetime. Fire Emblem: Awakening, meanwhile, has already surpassed 242,600 units in Japan.

Awakening not only reached a ton of consumers, but also saw a high sell-through rate. Media Create data states that the game sold through 81.63% of its stock. Due to the high sell-through rate, there has been a lack of product at some retailers.

Also noteworthy is that the title outsold every other release on the latest Media Create top 20 chart.

Awakening’s success thus far assures it of surpassing 300,000 copies sold and it may go on to top a half million units.

Media Create believes the five year wait for a brand new Fire Emblem game could have contributed to consumer hype. The sales-tracking company has also said that Nintendo’s advertising/promotions, Awakening’s new gameplay systems and character designs may have appealed to new customers.

One other random note from Media Create: Code of Princess also experienced a high sell-through rate at 72.62%.

VVVVVV dated for Europe

Posted on 12 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments

VVVVVV has finally made it past Nintendo of Europe’s submission process. Nicalis shared the news on its Twitter account today.

The studio said they’re “a couple of weeks out”, and followed that up with “MMMMMMay 10th”. Based on those messages, I assume VVVVVV is launching in Europe on that date.
