Jack Sparrow and Crew to Embark on a Swashbuckling Adventure in LEGO Brick Form

LONDON, United Kingdom. — (November 18, 2010) – Disney Interactive Studios and TT Games today announced that they are joining with The LEGO Group to bring Jack Sparrow and other familiar characters to life in virtual LEGO® adventures with LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game. The video game is being developed by TT Games, the group behind a portfolio of critically acclaimed, best-selling LEGO video games, and will be published by Disney Interactive Studios for the Wii™ console, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Games For Windows – LIVE and the Nintendo DS™ family of hand-held systems. The video games will be released simultaneously with the highly anticipated new film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” in May 2011.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game will be based in the world of the globally successful film franchise, incorporating storylines, locations and characters from the first three films (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”) as well as the upcoming fourth film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”


We’ve seen some of these images in Famitsu/Jump scans previously. However, it’s nice that we can finally take a look at some direct-feed screenshots. In other The Last Story news, make sure to check out some songs from the game, a Japanese promo poster, and the newly announced Wii bundle.


Nintendo will offer demo versions of select video games for its WiiWare™ downloadable game service starting Nov. 22. Wii™ owners with a broadband Internet connection will be able to visit the Wii Shop Channel to access demo versions of WiiWare games without using up any Wii Points™. The demos will allow people to sample a wide selection of games to help them decide which ones best suit their tastes.

The initial lineup of demos available on Nov. 22 includes BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves, ThruSpace™ and Jett Rocket. Additional demos will be added on Mondays and each will remain available on the Wii Shop Channel for a limited time.

Wario Factory: Conveyor belt in a secret factory, items come down from the belt, compatible with all sports
Junior Street: Rich “bonus court,” more points when shooting from atop the bonus panels, can get 10 times the points in some cases, compatible with volleyball/basketball/hockey
Koopa Castle: Dangerous court, bubbles fly up from below the court, compatible with all sports

Nintendo has also confirmed on the Japanese Mario Sports Mix website that Slime will be playable. The character has a “tricky” play style and can summon other Slimes to build a tower for extra height as its Special Shot.
