This information comes from Sonic Colors producer Takashi Iizuka…

“We know there are sometimes opinions about control from core gamers, but we’re intending Sonic Colours to be played by children of probably between six and twelve years-old. So, with Sonic Colours we have aimed more to make a game that everyone can control and have fun in. So, it’s not really a game for the core gamers. If you take the rail grind, it’s something that’s fast, not difficult but is fun to do and looks great. It’s about making a game that’s right for the core audience of the game.”

Even if this is true, I don’t know why Iizuka would say something like that. Such comments could very easily alienate hardcore Sonic fans who have been interested in purchasing the game. With that said, I suppose a well-made Sonic gamed aimed at children is better than a low-quality release. That is, if Sonic Colors is actually decent!

“Typhoon 4. It looks like it won’t have an effect on the weekend. Thank goodness! However, my health is bad. Prior to TGS, we’ll have a big announcement (?) on Saturday or Sunday, so I must recover,” – Hideo Kojima’s twitter

If there’s one person whose games are always awesome, it’s Hideo Kojima, and by that watch, any announcement from him is more than welcome. I’m curious though: Will this be a new game, or something else? I guess we’ll find out this weekend!

Sand. Sun. Sprouse brothers. The only way to make a day at the beach better is to play some Pokémon. Longtime Nintendo fans Dylan and Cole Sprouse of Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck did just that when they filmed a new commercial for the Pokémon™ HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version games for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems. The commercial will begin airing on Aug. 16 on Cartoon Network, Disney XD, Nickelodeon and Nicktoons.

In this behind-the-scenes video, fans can get a look at Dylan and Cole’s day on the beach in Santa Monica, Calif., as they play the games, battle against each other and race to see who can rack up the most steps using the Pokéwalker™ accessory, a small pedometer-like device that lets players bring their favorite Pokémon with them wherever they go. By walking, players earn Watts, which are used within the Pokéwalker to encounter and catch wild Pokémon or search for hidden items that can then be transferred into the Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version games.

Both Sprouse brothers have been big fans of the Pokémon series for years. “I think I like Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver because we played the original Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, so to play these games again is really nostalgic,” said Cole Sprouse.
