This information comes from an interview with Eiji Aonuma in Nintendo Power…

“[Laughs] I hadn’t thought of that [Epona as a Pegasus]! You surprised me with that one! Of course, you know, Link does have to travel between Skyloft and the land below, and back and forth, so he’s obviously going to have to do that via some sort of conveyance. That being said, I’d like to reveal that at a later time, so I don’t want to give away too much other than to say that he is going to be traveling between the two. However, I can guarentee he’s not going to be flying around like [Pit from] Kid Icarus!”

Travelling between the sky and mainland will obviously be a huge element in Skyward Sword. I’m just wondering about how players will be able to accomplish that. Link isn’t flying…And neither is Epona. But he’s going to have to descend from the sky without hurting himself somehow!

The Wii game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has had its share of problems, both before release and prior. First, it was a nightmarish process to get all of the licenses for the “Tatsunoko” side of things (most of which are owned by different people), and when they finally got through that whole process, they released the game in the U.S. to a crown of people that have never heard of the Tatsunoko license in their life. It almost seemed like a story of a game due to fail, especially on the Wii hardware, yet even still, the game came out and ended up beating Capcom’s expectations, as well as the entire North American audience’s preconceptions about what sells on Wii.

No matter how great a game it was, though, it still had one major bug: Occasionally, and randomly, some players’ points online would be erased for no reason. Well now, working with Nintendo to solve the issue, Capcom has finally laid the glitch to rest for good, which is great news for the TvC players out there. It may not have the license of Marvel vs. Capcom, but TvC is just as good a game, and I’m glad to hear things are going well for it.

– It will be a week long conference (press won’t be at the event for the whole week)
– Will be at the NOA headquarters
– Important executives to attend

This is interesting, isn’t it? A rumor about a rumor! In any case, you should, of course, keep the hype meter low until we receive a confirmation that the conference is actually happening. Hopefully we’ll receive some concrete news soon.

Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS 17.15, +0.97, +5.10%) today announced preliminary financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2010.

“We had a solid first quarter, exceeding expectations both top and bottom line,” said John Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer. “Top quality titles like 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, innovative digital offerings for titles like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Scrabble on the Apple iPad are driving the business.”

Similar to last year, Nintendo will not be holding a press conference at Gamescon. However, the company will not be completely absent from the trade fair. Nintendo has once again opted to feature a number of titles at the event in booth form. It has yet to be revealed which games will be on display, although one likely candidate is Metroid: Other M.
