SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON – October 5, 2010 – SEGA® of America, Inc and SEGA®, Europe Ltd. today announced they will bring Marvel Entertainment’s famed Super Hero franchise Captain America™ to video game systems in an original WWII adventure, Captain America: Super Soldier. The title is scheduled for release in 2011 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system, Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.

“Videogame players the world over can now become Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Captain America,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America. “Captain America: Super Soldier puts players in the boots of the ultimate Super-Soldier, wielding Captain America’s legendary shield. Working closely with Marvel ensures we’re delivering the calibre product that gamers and comic fans deserve and it’s a partnership we’re proud of here at SEGA.”




Just revealed by a press demo of the game, Super Street Fighter IV 3D will have a regular control option in addition to a more simplified option for casual gamers. No word on exactly the differences between the styles, but I could expect it would be something like the difference between Mario Kart Wii‘s control options or Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Rock Band Platform Offers More Songs Than Any Other Rhythm Video Game

NEW YORK – Oct. 5, 2010 – It’s official and ahead of schedule! Harmonix, the world’s premier music video game developer, and MTV Games,a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), announced today that next week’s downloadable content release of tracks from The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s seminal album, Are You Experienced, will push the Rock Band™ platform past the 2,000-song milestone, with the classic song “Are You Experienced?” coming in at No. 2,000. Back in April, Capcom stated that they making titles that had yet to be announced for the Wii. While we have heard about a number of new DS/3DS games, news has been quiet for Nintendo’s home console. So, what about those Wii projects? Well, according to Capcom’s Christian Svensson, they’re still in development, but fans will have to wait a bit longer.
