It goes without saying that most modern Sonic games haven’t exactly been great. After the hedgehog made the jump from two dimensions to three, he’s been stuck in a downward spiral filled with annoying animal friends, werehogs, and bizarre interspecies romances. Sonic needed a return to his glory days, and who better to attempt this than the developers of the surprisingly good Sonic Rush and the Sonic Advance series, Dimps. With Sonic 4, Dimps were tasked with creating a Sonic game that would both bring back fond memories of Sonic Team’s early games on the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive, still be an entertaining 2D platformer, and please Sonic’s unappeasable fanbase. Did they manage to pull off all of these things? No, not really.

As you may have noticed, the posts we’ve added to the site have started to slow down. Of course, that’s because tomorrow is Thanksgiving! We’ll most likely see less and less news starting tomorrow, and that’ll last until Monday. It’s possible that we’ll still see a few notices from Europe, and I’m sure there’ll be some news from Japan as well. On the whole, though, I’m not expecting too much.

I’ll still be around to cover things for the most part, but I’ll be treating the next couple of days somewhat like a weekend. I’m not entirely sure what my schedule will be like exactly, so we’ll see. Hopefully you guys will spend some time with your family/friends! I’ll be heading off to see the new Harry Potter film at some point (I know, that’s not really something most people do on Thanksgiving), watching a few football games (go Jets!), and having a nice, quiet dinner.

In any case, don’t eat too much turkey, and enjoy your Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating!

This information comes from Gaijin Games’s website…

“Be sure to rate the demo via the Nintendo Channel’s rating system though, because games that score higher than Bronze will get to keep their demos longer! Otherwise, this sucker’s gone in 4 weeks!”

Hmmm… That’s really interesting. I had no idea that the Nintendo Channel has a great deal of authority as to when WiiWare demos are removed. Your vote truly does count!
