World’s first rock climbing game incorporates Wii MotionPlusTM for intense realism

San Diego, Calif.-March 2nd, 2010 -Human Soft today announced it is developing HardGrip, the first extreme rock climbing game for Wii™. Experience the thrill and adrenaline of free soloing some of the most amazing rock walls in the world with vertigo-inspiring graphics, a pulse-pounding soundtrack, and dizzyingly realistic climbing action. HardGrip supports the Wii MotionPlus™ for even greater precision and authenticity. Compete against other climbers and hone your skills to earn respect and become the top extreme climber.

HardGrip takes players on a tour of exotic and stunning locales around the globe as they compete in open events or invitation-only official races. With no harnesses or lifelines, players must solve seemingly impossible challenges and conquer their fear to make it to the top. Speed counts, but climbers who prove their ingenuity and daring will earn more respect. As climbers progress, their skills will have to become truly awesome to make the grade.

Martijn Kroon Stuiver, PR Manager of Activision Blizzard Benelux, recently sat down with Netherlands website Wii-DS. Stuvier was pushed by the interviewer from Wii-DS, who noted that the company does not have many titles coming to the Wii and DS. In response, he said:

“There’s a lot coming up, but it isn’t announced yet. I’m pretty sure you’ll be amazed by at least one specific title.”

Stuvier was then asked if an old franchise will be returning, but said nothing more than “no comment.” Obviously, that’s not much to go on, but it looks like Activision has something special in development for either the Wii or DS (or perhaps both systems).

“As it is, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge is packed to the point where there isn’t any space for the battle mode to be added, unfortunately…Shantae will be available soon” – WayForward Twitter

When the Shantae title for GBA was announced, the title was going to have a four player battle mode. As we know now, however, the it never saw the light of day. But I suppose DSiWare’s limits are just to small to cram in the unreleased multiplayer into Risky’s Revenge.
