The Smurfs: Dreams, a 3D platformer from Ocellus, has received a launch trailer. Microids published it on Switch this week.

The Thing: Remastered

June 7: The Thing: Remastered is in the works and will be released on Switch, Nightdive Studios just announced. It will be available later in 2024.

The Thing: Remastered marks the return of the cult-classic 2002 third-person survival horror shooter inspired by Universal Pictures’ 1982 film. Through the KEX Engine, Nightdive is increasing the resolution and frame rate while also improving character models, textures, and animations with advanced 3D rendering for updated lighting and atmospheric effects.

Balatro Friends of Jimbo (Pack 2) DLC

Balatro just revealed a new wave of DLC with the Friends of Jimbo (Pack 2). More collaborations are in store.

Players will be able to add some visual flair to your decks with these new cosmetic card skins inspired by fan-favorite characters. Cyberpunk 2077, The Binding of Isaac, Slay The Spire, and Stardew Valley are featured in the next pack.

Mega Jynx has long been talked about within the Pokemon community. It’s the only Mega Evolution that Game Freak cut from X and Y. Now fans have gotten their hands on the actual design.

Worms Armageddon Anniversary update free games

Team17 and Digital Eclipse aren’t done with Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, as it’s been revealed that three more games are planned. The SNES and SEGA Genesis versions of Worms, along with the Game Boy Advance game Worms World Party, are coming in early 2025. All three will be distributed as part of an update.

Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition already includes the 1999 PC original plus its Game Boy counterpart. It also includes new features and an interactive documentary.

The Mortuary Assistant physical

The Mortuary Assistant is originally on Switch digitally, but now a physical release is on the way. Super Rare Games is working on a boxed version in partnership with DreadXP and Darkstone Digital.

4,000 copies will be available. Each unit includes interior art, a full-color manual, exclusive sticker, and a set of three card trading card pack.

Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster

August 28: Today, Argonaut Games announced that a remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is now in development. It will launch in 2024 on “all the current consoles” – which should include Switch.

Argonaut Games actually closed in 2004. However, today’s announcement reveals that the company is now making a comeback two decades later.

Yakuza Kiwami trailer

SEGA is celebrating today’s debut of Yakuza Kiwami on Switch with a launch trailer. The franchise is finally appearing on Nintendo’s console for the first time.

Trine Ultimate Collection

VGP is launching the exclusive Trine Ultimate Collection Switch physical release, the retailer has announced.

All four games in the series will be sold on a single cartridge. The first three games were previously available as a GameStop exclusive, but that now goes for over $200 on the reseller market. Trine 4 was also sold physically by itself and in a bundle with the previous three games which were downloads. To reiterate, this is the first time that all of the game will be available together physically.

Every now and then you hear about an uplifting customer service story, and Nintendo is now receiving praise for how it handled the repair of a child’s Switch system.

Fumie Wakabayashi, the child’s mother, sent in the console to Nintendo after it broke. The issue is that her son placed chocolate bar stickers on the device which meant a lot to him. Given how damaged the console was, the family didn’t believe they’d be getting them back. But much to the mother’s surprise, when Nintendo sent back the fixed Switch, the package also included a sheet containing the stickers as well – all of which were fully preserved. Wakabayashi ended up in tears with how happy she was.
